Needs a second one on the seat stay to keep the chain in perfect tension at all times.

I would imagine that magent would collect ferrous dust going down the trail.
Absolutely. When I ran the Motion Instruments setup with the basic fork tracer (had magnets in it), after a ride there was a bunch of magnetic dust in there that didn't want to let go.

You could sell it as ore!

Lol

You managed to fuck up the spelling and meaning of plenty other basic English words... What's one more to you?

English isn't a proper language. Probably more appropriate to say we fucked up Latin, German and French.

No professor.
You just fucked it up.
And no doubt you "could care less" and no pretty "colored" pie chart can excuse this fucking nonsense .

Every language has an origin.

Doubtful that magnet is strong enough to really hold the chain on. Last industry mfg I worked for, the founder also had a magnet obsession. To the point he got a patent for a magnetic chain retention device.

We tried for over a year to get a working version. Tried a little open top guide thing with a magnet in it, tried magnets embedded in the chain ring, tried lost of things. Used super strong rare earth magnets. Nothing worked. Like others said, the magnets would collect debris and then be even less effective.

I run a STFU (only a single loop) on a SC Tallboy. Before the STFU, the chain would move around so much in rough stuff it would slap the inside of my calf and make a huge racket. SC VPP bikes are prone this, doesn't seem to be a huge problem with other frames. All good now with the STFU, I can hear a dull thud when the chain bounces off it, but that's it. Much quieter and no calf slapping. :thumb:

Does someone sell a chainslap protector that looks like the non-magnet portion of the device? My bike doesn’t slap much but completely silent would be appealing. Thinking of going stfu, but would prefer something like I mentioned.

Do you run it on top, or underneath like Jackson Goldstone was doing? I have an STFU sitting in my drawer but I've been reluctant to cut space into either of my SC chain protectors to fit it. The stock protector on the Heckler SL is pretty good, with tall, soft fins that deaden the slap. The fins on the Nomad's protector aren't nearly as tall so I was thinking of trying something on it.

started? As best I can tell, proto-indo-european would be the farthest back linguists have been able to trace our languages.

I watched this the other day, and as I recall, it's a good example of how european languages evolved:
Saw one with RobWords (the guy above) about the same thing. Very cool.

I tried it with the smaller loop, and some of the DH loops, but could only get it to not rub using the single big loop.
Works great, no contact when pedaling in any gear.

The other huge thing is to lock out the rear der b pivot or whatever they call it. The "hall lock".
I used some little M12 shoulder washers from McMaster, 12mm ID, 15ish OD and .2-.3mm thick.
Otherwise the der flops and clanks on hard impacts/drops.
