I have, when I was seven there was this kid down the road I did not like. He kicked my ass at the bus stop one day. I stopped "not liking" him and started hating him. 12 years later I saw him passed out at a party, I woke him up with a .

yah popular opinion would mean democracy, we obviously can't have that. especially after the current president lost the popular vote, it would change our current march to progress.

No - oil is lame - just ask my bro who paid something ridiculous like $4/gal in italy while he lived there. We are a bunch of wasteful slobs - but I don't see anyone (even the hardcore granolas in Boulder) rushing out and buying horses to commute to work - what do ya want?

If you want to jerk off with N8, do it in a PM. It's not polite to do it in front of the rest of us.

Yeah flatulant_man... everyone knows this Forum is exclusively used for the anti-Bush crowd to go down on each other...!

Piss off N8. He specifially posted a useless cheerleading comment and then asked that no one criticize him for it. Actually, that puts him below you on the totem pole, and I wasn't sure that was possible.

Two suspected members of Hamas arrested in US
AFP

WASHINGTON (AFP) - Two suspected members of Hamas have been arrested in the United States and charged with supporting a foreign terrorist organization, money laundering and racketeering, US Attorney General John Ashcroft announced.

The authorities have issued an arrest warrant for a third suspect facing the same charges, identified as the deputy chief of the political bureau of Hamas, Mousa Mohammed Abu Marzook, who currently resides in Syria.

Ashcroft said the trio allegedly ran a US-based terrorist recruiting and financing cell linked with Hamas, a Palestinian militant group which has publicly admitted to many killings, primarily of Israelis but also of Americans.

"This cell allegedly financed the activities of a terrorist organization that was murdering innocent victims abroad, including American citizens," Ashcroft told a news conference.

He said Muhammad Hamid Khalil Salah, 51, of Chicago, and Abdelhaleem Hasan Abdelraziq Ashqar, 46, of Washington, were arrested on Thursday night.

The three were said to have participated in a 15-year racketeering conspiracy to illegally finance terrorist activities in Israel and the disputed West Bank and Gaza Strip territories, including providing money for the purchase of weapons.

The authorities have sought the forfeiture of 2.7 million dollars, all funds in four bank accounts and Salah's residence in Bridgeview, Illinois.

Ashcroft said that Marzook at one time lived in Louisiana and near Washington and is now thought to live in Damascus.

He said the trio had joined with 20 co-conspirators to commit the alleged crimes, which date back to 1998.

The US State Department named Hamas a foreign terrorist organization in 1997.

Congress has made it illegal to provide any material support to designated foreign terrorist organizations, even if the donor intended to fund benign activities, Ashcroft said.

He pointed out that "once there is a designated terrorism determination made, that makes providing funds to those organizations a very serious act."

If convicted for racketeering, the three face a maximum penalty of life in prison.

Last month, a banned Muslim charity and seven men were charged in the United States with conspiring to support Hamas, and with tax fraud and money laundering.

The Holy Land Foundation for Relief and Development and its chairman, executive director, lead fundraiser and four other officials were charged with 42 counts of illegal financial transactions, conspiracy, money laundering and tax fraud.

An indictment sought 12.4 million dollars from the group and the seven men, which it said is the amount they funneled to Hamas between 1995 and 2001.

The Texas-based foundation, which had billed itself as the largest US-based Muslim charity until it was banned, was also accused of financial connections with Hamas since its creation in 1989, funding Hamas and families of Hamas martyrs and prisoners, and acting as a fundraiser for Hamas in the United States.

N8, are you playing the fool, or is it natural?

You are the fool... Al_Q is going to keep their planning as secret as they possibly can. And the US intel agencies are going to keep the info they have on the Al_Q as secret as they can.

As sucessful deflection of an Al_Q attack should never make the news.

I suspect they have quite a few rights... probably more than the average Afghani did under their former government.

Interesting that you would use the Taliban as a reference when discussing the behavior of the current administration… maybe there is hope for you after all.

You know one thing I love to watch is a group of people who stand on their moral high ground and preach to the rest of us who question what we see instead of hopping on the band wagon of somebody's political agenda. Lets put all this into persepective...

1. GWB svcks super stinky arse
2. Kerry cant make up his mind wht he wants for dinner, much less what would be good for this country.
3. Terrorist organizations like Hamas and Al Queda will continue to plan attacks agains the US and it's allies as long as it is allowed to.
4. Ask the families of the 9/11 victims if they really care about the jerks in Gitmo.
5. Fluff and Toshi need to sit on their islands and hope that they never get attacked like we did. Hiroshima and Nagasaki dont count, you attacked us first Toshi.

pearl harbor didn't come from nowhere, either. admittedly the japanese had been on a nationalist rampage since winning the russo-japanese war in 1904 and had already chewed up a large region of asia, but the u.s. pretty much forced the japanese hand when they cut off oil to the region, iirc. viewing history as one sided is a dangerous proposition.

my family in japan was against the war effort (wwii) from having participated in a pre-war exchange program with the u.s., just for the record, and my grandfather was among the first japanese executives to be stationed in the u.s. after the war. addition: despite being against the war privately we supported the soldiers -- much as in america now, go figure -- including a great-uncle of mine in the navy who accompanied the captain (i don't know what position he held, something minor) as he went down with the ship.

Goerge Bush acts like his the smartest guy in the world. I am not sure he is.

When the "The most powerful man in the world" lies like he did before the Iraq war, it's not strange he looses respect all over the world. After 9-11, he did all the right things, he cooperated and got full support from all major countries all over the world.

Now, people laugh when the word "Weapons of mass destruction" comes up.
USA have been the only superpower in the world for 25 years, If the US top politics don'nt changes the way the act, there will not be another 25.

You can't successfully run a community in the long run with extreme capitalizm as the holy grail.

I am 33 years old, and as long as I can remeber, common Norwegians where US friendly (even after several political misstakes). Now people think this cowboy politics has came to far.

It's time to change, to save all the good things is the US and in the rest of the world.

Ummmm, glad your family was against the war  But thanks to your family members that served in our military.

That comment was actually aimed at fluff. And just so that you know, we captured a few Hamas bad guys in Iraq last year. And they were working with Al Queda to plan attacks against the coalition.

And like I said, I hope that Japan doesnt get hit on the scale that we did 3 years ago. Especially since you have such the population density in your cities...

japan already had its brush with terror quite a few years ago, with the sarin attacks by an internal religous group, aum shinrikyo. :dead: given that they are not directly involved in middle eastern politics i don't foresee them being targetted by al qaeda and friends, do you?

All normal people are against terror attacks, but how to reduce the risk in the feature? My guess will be: go to the source, and try to find of where all this hate come from. The latest actions "agains terror" have produced more terrorist than ever before. It's time to try something else.

You really do need to brush up on your history. The UK has suffered many terrorist attacks. It has also been extensively bombed during war time, something that has never happened to the USA.

Wow Toshi I had no idea you were political leader in Japan during WWII!

What is you secret to appearing to be the age of a twenty something American college student?

Seriously, if you were willing to share your health secrets you could make a fortune.

Hey powell, does it require a lot of mental effort to spout your bigoted comments, or are you so immersed into your hate that it comes easy?

I was wondering the same thing myself. For example: "forget hiroshima" or "everybody wants to be american". Wake up we're not perfect! I love all your "They're all Arabs" comments also, good stuff. For your narrow minded redneck ways I would like you to accept a swift  from me to you.
