The woman is trying to convince me to get a pair. She says they look nice and tons of PNW-types swear by these things. I think they look like they have cancerous AIDS. I tried on a pair and they immediately gave me a palsy. She claims they break in like butter.

Just buy your man slipper/boots and get it over with!

Actually, I have a pair and they are quite comfortable and durable. They don't look as dumb once they are broken in (and worn with jeans), but I almost threw up when I saw my first pair.

I don't think too many in the PNW wear these things, mostly the rednecks and wannabe types (me).

I have no experience, but the one in that picture is hideous.

Why not get something that looks good and is comfortable?

My girlfriend works for the company that owns Sperry, Merrell, Patagonia and many others. I wear whatever shoes she brings home for me.

PNW types? I don't know anyone that wears those slippers.
she's from a smallish town in NW Washington, and swears they are standard issue. we were just in Bend, OR and i kept an eye out for anyone wearing them. i didn't see any walking around, so i asked why that was if "everybody wears them."

I rock these in the office. Made by Merrell, comfortable as fvck, look good with any casual pants and no goofy strap/stitching/elastic stuff.

I like the brown but I'm sure the black is ok too.

i'm not looking to buy any damn boots. i just was looking for agreement that these things look like they have the boot equivalent of down's syndrome.

I think we can all agree on that. But like a child with down's syndrome, they'll grow on you ;)

I'm thinking these "romeos" could be a nice comprimise. Original slipper/boot, combined with sleek rock 'n roller styling:

do they come with breast implants and a coupon for a free mullet at the local supercuts?
hahahha,
I forgot to mention that they can be ordered with addition heel risers. I think it's like $10 for every 1/4"? That can't be said for the georgia boots.

While not those exactly, there were a lot of folks in the Navy that wore something similar refered to as "engineer boots" that were slip on.
