Yesterday was our first hot day of the year and of course our central a/c did not work when I fired it up, which seems to happen every year. It was blowing warm air. Bunch of goddamn CLOWNS we have for a service company. We do have a window unit that we somehow acquired years ago, so threw that in the bedroom window so we slept cool last night. I did it more for the dog than anything. Today will be even warmer and I am hopeful to get out for a road ride after work (currently working in the office).

We run the living shit out of our AC and every year I clean coils outside, change filter (3-4 times year), wet vac the algae out of the drain and have few issues.

35 freedums this morning and pretty sure there was a little sleet last night.

Bicycle riding after work.

Got the nose of the trailer kinda figured out using the vee gives me quite a bit of room but still allowing all of the nose to stay in the trailer when playing or traveling. Stuff I would need to carry anyways.

Over the hill for the big storage load today, hopefully it will be the last.

howdy all

wife is containing her bodily fluids after becoming incontinent from both ends (at one point simultaneously, she tells me, puking into tub while on the toilet) yesterday. so that's good. she's well enough to drive the kids in but isn't going to stick around at school and work

I've elected to take my shift today that'd normally be in person at the hospital from home in support of her. and because that way I didn't have to commute in, esp. given the fun experience of riding home on a flat tire yesterday. they're not going to fire me for doing so eh

Morning Monkeys.

In office day and it's sunny, yet raining like Portland loves to do. I have a full sized mattress that's been in the back of my truck since Saturday that I really need to dump. My guess is that bitch is pretty water logged by now, should be fun.

My desktop dev machine doesn't have a CD ROM drive, I feel so old right now.

<edit> holy hell. First Windows burns the iso file to disc, thanks Windows. Now it keeps failing due to errors returned from the disc. Times like this I'm glad to not deal with physical media, yet somebody has to validate the iso, fuck me.

Exactly. Still likely the minimum, I rarely have more than that.
When I lived in shitty cold ass places I would fill the truck bed with straw bales in the fall, by winter it would be so water logged and frozen it provided the weight needed for traction. Come spring it would thaw and I could just rake it out of the bed anywhere. I assume you are doing the same thing with a mattress but have the common sense to take it to the dump rather than drop it in the woods somewhere.

I was helping a "friend" clean out their apartment and meant to take it Saturday, but the wife said "I have a load of stuff, take it all at once". But she still hasn't gotten her crap together, so I'm taking it solo. There are enough mattresses in the woods around here, so I'll take it to the dump for $30.

We are good here now, the storm missed this town. But just north has gone plaid.

And further north, where the girlfriend's mother is, now has (or had) the tornado warning. I told her to reach her mom.

:edit: just checked again and now the tornado warnings are all gone..for now.

Here. Haley's last day of school today; Hannah's is tomorrow. Planning to have Haley to a practice day with some of the faster boys on Friday, then a team day of Saturday.
Work training is going well. Experience is showing through on some of the mock calls, especially when they keep trying to throw wrenches at us, but the systems are still a pita.

Still sick. It’s been almost a week since the first sign of symptoms. I think today is stuff clearing out of my system but I still rescheduled a spine specialist visit I had on the books for Friday. I booked that appointment 6 weeks ago and now they can’t reschedule me for about another month.
