hmmm...i don't think this was the topic of debate. Not for me anyway. The newly enacted law is federal, which means that in the committing of a federal crime (kidnapping for one), if the unborn victim is harmed/killed, there's charges which may be filed. Maybe this debate went hypothetical when i wasn't looking...
this isn't a setup, i'm just curious: isn't our medical technology at a level where a mother's life being in danger is wwwwaaaaayyyyy low? More specifically, what are the numbers claimed that a mother's life was in danger, and thusly an abortion was performed to save the mother? I don't even know where to get these numbers, or what kind of phrase to google.
You're probably right, I think I was getting a wee bit heated...This conversation is about the right to abort your child ....so if we're gonna talk abortion, let's talk abortion, but let's make sure that the woman's side of the argument and not just the foetus' is included... It gets rather tiresome to read debates that go on and on and on about why abortions should be made illegal because the foetus has all these rights...but no one ever addresses the fact that maybe the mom has some rights too...so for me it's part of the argument, my apologies of I took a leap of logic and wasn't following an exact linear argument (thar be a reason I'se not in a field involving math or science)

Numbers....I can't take the time to look em up at work, but I'm sure they're out there. Technology is removing the dangers to moms over time, but that doesn't necessarily eliminate other factors that are taken into account when determining abortion, such as the quality of life the mom can provide the child...this includes how handicapped the child may be born, or the situation the mother is in. If all that's gonna happen is the mom pops the kid out and social services takes the baby away for life in the foster care system...sorry but I'd rather see the baby get aborted.
