to be fair, these hunters will use every part of any bear they're lucky enough to get. "season" is just for a few months each year.

Up here, I don't. Our deer hunters are way more responsible than, say, automobile drivers. In rifle season I generally tie a jingle bell to my pack, but no visual shrieking.
