that's pretty cool. :thumb: i spent about a month this year without either a computer or a car, and it was a good experience to have. certainly made me realize how much more inconvenient life is when you absolutely must take the bus or ride a bike everywhere.

My father had no interest in the internet, until I showed him Yahoo Hearts Online. He probably plays 50 games a day now.

My mom is retiring next week and told me that she's getting rid of her dial-up account and going without the internet after retirement.

Way to go, Mom. :D :thumb:
I wish my mom would adopt that lifestyle. That way I wouldn't get the "help desk" calls anymore.
What's funny is that if they went broadband instead of dial-up, they might actually find them internets useful.

I guess I hate cells because of the people that get addicted to them.

Ditto on the kick-assness of the internet.

It's so kick ass! Cellphones are okay, I just got my first. I just need it to call people. I don't need to text message, play games and crap.

I never used to text people until I got a nice phone with a decent UI - it's so much easier now. It's convenient for instructional or status type messages. Sucks for long conversations unless you're that asian girl who can text without looking at her phone...

Here in SoFLA we have a mandatory 18th century style of live for a couple of weeks every year: its called hurricane season. :help:

No electricity =

No computer
No TV
No fridge
No hot showers
No lights
No radio, barring 24-hour hurricane and post-hurricane broadcasts using battery powered radios
No microwave
No stove
And oftentimes no Gas, because with the lack of electricity, the gas pumps at stations don’t work, thus no car either

But, at least I can ride my bike:

Jon.

You're just a pup, so I'm sure your cell is for socializing. Wait until you need one for business, then it SUCKS!!!!

I have been considering completely dumping the internet/cableTV for a while now. Its really not feasible, as Im taking online classes, but I hope that once Im out of school and working, that I wont have it at home, only at work or something...
Still, if I have kids, I wont want to deny them the bountiful caches of porn that I enjoyed in my youth. It'd be only fair for them to have access...
guess im stuck with you bishes.
