Ok, so I may be in the wrong forum, however, this should get more views/input here than in tech.

I want to give ghetto tubeless a try, and with all I've read, using 20" schrader tubes is the "norm". Since I run narrower xc rims, would I be better to--

A-- drill the 3/8" hole into my rims and not worry about weakening the rim, or

B-- find 20" presta valve tubes and use those instead?

I understand the reasoning for the schrader valves, as after removing the valve core allows for a larger amount of air to help set the bead. Maybe I'm just being a sally-boy and wanted to post to hear from some monkies.

Either way, thank you for your input on my critical situation.

Just have your LBS get you a couple QBP branded 20 inch prestas. They've got removable cores.

I use presta all the time. It works fine. Use a schrader adapter so you can use an air compressor to inflate.
Adding sealant through the valve isn't a big deal to me. It doesn't work very well. Just pop the bead, dump in a scoop, and re-inflate.

Yep. I don't even go through the valve with regular tubeless, just take off enough bead to get the scoop of stans, then turn the wheel 180degrees so that the stans will be sitting opposite of the bead you popped off. That will ensure none gets out.
