Most of the guys I ride with think my bikes suck. After much abuse I went frame shopping and came up with this for $225.00

I'll swap out the noleen shock for my Stratos XC Pro and all the other XT bits + the Marzocchi Bomber fork. Avid mechs up front still and I will have to stay with the XTR rear calipers until I can afford a Rhino lite / XT disk rear hub.

I know it is not the latest or greatest but it is 4 bar, I hope, and within my budget at the moment.

What do you think about this frame... better than my antique Trek Y-Gide and Y-22???

The Midget hopes so...

I'm sure it'll be better than the old trek...and that seems like an awesome deal! Congrats!

It's similar to my GF's Rocky Mountain Spice. It's a nice ride. Too bad you don't have a rear disc mount...:( I have the same problem with my FSR, I'd like to kick the V's out of my life...but I can't. Well I could but I don't want to buy the adaptor, new hubs, brakes... Not rich enough...........yet!

those were pretty sweet frames. i know for a fact disc's weren't very popular, and if i remember correctly were probably not even around when that frame was designed so it looks like you are stuck w/ disc's. hope you enjoy the frame, from the pic the frame looked like it was in pretty good condition but check out the bushings and make sure there isn't any slop b/c getting a new set of bushings out of giant maybe a bitch, then again you can probably go to a local machine shop and they would probably be able to make some for you, maybe even ones that are better then what you have.

My LBS has the adaptor for the rear disc but we don't know if Avid mechs will work. My old trek was not disc compatible so calipers rear and disc front. The set up never bothered me so I will go with it until more money comes my way.

Now for four bar slop... that is what concerned me the most. The price included a complete bushing rebuild kit and the frame is brand new from the box - never built or ridden.

It will be a month before I can get it built and ridden. I can't wait!

Frame size = medium. As it hangs now (no BB or headset) it weighs 6.25 LBS.

Here is the bushing rebuild kit. There are also many teflon washers but they look the same as the originals. I will keep the original OEM bushings until I think there is slop. The upgrade kit kind of looks the same to me...

My Trek Y-22 weighs 27 LBS - I think I can build this to a little less...:p I am a weight weenie.
