Boy scout is fun. From the backside (ride in on a few roads), its pretty tame. Once you hit the single track above Glenwood canyon, its all pretty rolling and scenic. Join up with the Boyscout trail, and its nice with some steep sections... no DH bike required. Tame, fun. And don't forget to hop in the Colorado with the local hotsprings pools (on the opposite side from the highway... yes, free).
Any recommendations on B&B, cabin or other cool place to stay?
Boyscout is one definite on our list. She and I are a bit more roadies than dirters, so I think one mtb ride on a 3-day weekend will suffice and Boy Scout does look great!
We're gonna ride the bike path along the river, hike Hanging Lake, and look for the free hot springs. Any other activity suggestions? I thought about caving, but one knee is probably too jacked up for that, but it's been three years since I went caving, so I can't recall if it's as bad on my knee as I'm imagining.
We stayed up at Sunlight Mt. Resort one autumn. Ski area was closed, trees were changing.... nice. We stayed at the "rustic" Sunlight Mt. Inn. Funky, cool place.
