i've always had good luck with PI half fingers. not sure what model i have right now, but the padding is good enough for me, i just wish they had more of the terrycloth material on the side for wiping sweat. as for helmets, i've always used Giro. they fit me and the styling has been pretty good.

Specialized XC Lite glove (full finger)

I'm partial of Giro helmets (had Bell and currently sport Speccy). Looks like 2010 sees the demise of the Pneumo. Loved that helmet. Cracked my Ionos. SWORKS is shallow...the Speccy Decibel is 90% SWORKS at less than half the cost.

Time to get some road specific gloves. I ride a Easton E90 SLX bar and need a good match?

I may also get a new helmet?
Giro makes gloves now, to go with their helmets. It'd be a good match as it's the same company as Easton, so they're totally designed to work together!*

*I just totally made that up

I don't usually wear gloves. If I do, I just put on my mtb full fingers. Never felt a need for gloves really. For helmet, I have a Pneumo right now. I've had a list of giro helmets in the past few years (1 Havoc, 2 E2s and 1 Hammerhead). They all worked well for both road and mountain use.
