if one wanted to get out and pedal around I would suggest a parking lot w/ curbs and such. treat the curbs like logs. you can ride them lengthwise, hop them, side hop them etc.
no need to worry about hurting the dirt with your giant tires and you get to practice your skills.

Lake Sawyer was mint on Sat... the frozen ground was like riding on sandpaper - dry/tacky/mmm... I'm still on a buzz from that ride.
