So Thursday night I had the stomach bug, then last night our younger dog had the stomach bug. Jesus Christ. I had to get up four times in the middle of the night to take her out. Wife's not home so this is all on me. I see a nap this afternoon. I am feeling better today, so I am happy about that.

Snowed 4ish inches. Cleared our lanes and a few neighbors and landlords. Hopefully I didn’t wake them up at 5. Sorry not sorry.

Busy day shuttling kids to birthday party’s, swim practice and other such stuff.

Finally rode yesterday. Took it easy since head doesn't want to move in all directions.

Might do that again today.

Tired.

Sprinkling snow here. Will go retrieve my car from work and then probably grab breakfast/lunch at a diner. And then ??

Morning Monkeys.

Lil Man has a basketball tournament this weekend again, might go watch. The wife works today, so I will try and be low key. She gets bitter when she has to work while I bum around the house playing video games. So getting out has its advantages.

we got scammed here in central NC.
yesterday afternoon to last night there was real snow falling, and that made it to 2" ?
and then around 10 it started to rain, and this morning everything is this weird ice crapola that is now melting >:(
I should have taken the land cruiser out last night for snow based circular vehicular motions at local retailers, instead of waiting for this morning

The package that never arrived. It's a 1" pipe fitting, so it's either a tiny box or an envelope. Either way it's taken almost a month to get here.

Here. Hannah has a birthday party, Haley is just around. Another one of my clients is likely in the burn zone/mandatory evacuation area for the Eaton fire now.

My Sandwich won first prize in the first annual Sandwich off. I won $100 Apple card, $100 Wegmans gift card, and a free sandwich from Jersey Mikes via GrubHub. I made an Aldo Royalle. Well, I made 14 of them. My advantage was that I was well prepared, and they were ready quickly. So, I beat everyone to the punch. I served my sandwich with homemade Mango Lemonade and Banana Peppers on the side. Everyone else did Potato Chips and no drink. Everyone else's sandwich was another known sandwich's (cheese steak and Rubens). Mine did not have any Avocado either and utilized readily available ingredients. The participants were the judges. I have been invited to the second annual Sandwich off but not as a participant. Just as a Judge. I will face off with the winner of that Sandwich off if there is a third.

Bacon, eggs, coffee. Ice everywhere. Was going to go to the races this weekend but everything is shut down due to “inclement weather”. Guess I have no other option than to complain about it.

Wet and drizzly today in Portugal. Cleaned out the greenhouse and started prepping the raised beds for this year’s crop of jalapenos and tomatillos. The word is getting out among the expats in the area that we grow peppers, so we will triple production this year. I need to find a way to monetize this without coming across like I’m greedy.

So I went to Lisbon for NYE with GF after a fucked year to rest a bit. Went there with a mild cold which turned into a serious pneumonia. So 3/6 days I simply stayed in bed and our apartment was next to some party place that stopped playing really shitty music at 4AM.

Now I caugh so often and so constantly I sleep 2h per day and I have 39.5C fever but I have to work because my glorious company is such a mess if I won't give final accept on show episodes no one will. This year didn't start well. I'm this close to buying a carbon road bike to cheer myself up but I don't think it would be wise to do it all drugged up.

Got the chain installed on the commuter. I have no idea what kind of crazy sticky glue like oil the original owner has used but it was extremely difficult to get of the rest of the drive train cleaned. Drive train needs a little adjustment and then I need to find new tires. The gravel tires on the bike are worn plus also not sure if its the rim tape that is incorrectly installed because the tire does not seat correctly. Not sure what tires to get and if I should go tubeless if possible.

Sunny and warm here in the sticks.

Heater-vent-selector-thingy stopped working correctly in my 40 year old truck this week. It was a pretty easy fix, but I had to yard out the entire dashboard to get to the loose screw. Need to reassemble the dash today and then “yardwork.”

In cases like that, I just take the entire drivetrain off, and put the whole thing (cassette, chain, chainrings) into the ultrasonic cleaner with citrus-based degreaser, at like 170 degrees. It’s a luxury to have, but OMG, does it save time.

Already 48 freedoms but the shady corners are still icy AF.

My buddy and I are taking a Reservation gravel adventure. I don't have the heart to tell him I think it's too soft. Let the shit show begin, should be fun anyways.

Saw that in a video today never heard about it before but that would have been amazing. I thing I got it down to a good level of clean and then weekly clean and lube should keep it in good shape now I have put on a new chain.

A dusting of snow with a little ice this morning. I have decided that I will take the van to ride my bicycle in Florida in two weeks. I know, why Florida…it’s flat, people are crazy, etc. Only because it’s warm and I’m bored..Oh, and today is my birthday. I hate birthdays.

Don't you find oats to overpowering and dominating for coffee use?
It depends. I've tried a few alt milks and some almonds are better than others, and some oats are better than others. The oat milk used by this shop is pretty good and is their suggested milk for a few drinks. The mini cortado here is oat with japanese black sugar in it and the combo is fantastic.

I'm also getting picky about the container. I used to get my drinks to go, in a paper cup. There's an appreciable difference with the heavy glass you get in the shop. it retains the heat better. I ignored this for years, but I'm noticing it now.

Ah ok you use sugar. No judgement but if drinking with sugar the oat specific taste is less of a problem. Then again I drink milk coffees once a month while my v60s makes 3 coffees per day. Really tempted to finally buy a commendante to have an excuse to buy an osmosis system and buy substance coffee beans but then again I should save as I work in an annoying industry
