Good article.

It bugs me how a lot of mountain bikers are at a total loss of perspective. They see the bmx guys doing all these crazy tricks and they think it must be easier on a bmx bike.

Simular thing with DH bikes and hardtails, I was at the Sea Otter dirt jump comp and heard a lot of comments like "Those guys on the DH bikes are crazy for doing that." But fact is, just cause you ride a DH bike and can't fathom doing any of that stuff doesn't mean its any easier on a different bike.

Seriously, a heavy bike with suspension is probally the easiest thing to hit big jumps on and a little rigid bmx bike is the hardest.

I rode a hardtail for park. Now I ride BMX.

BMX IS EASIER.

Sure it's sketchier, but that's because spins and whatnot are easier.

So what?

Who cares?

You are seriously misguided, and easily manipulated if you believe that average Joe-mountain biker really cares about this.

I GIVE THIS A QUARTER-STAR.

When my mountain bike breaks I ride bmx at the dirt jumps, I dont ride park or spin very much, I just crash a lot more.
