great day of riding @ diablo. perfect weather, hit a bunch of trails i'd not done previously (twist and asylum are really great), and finally hit that ladder drop towards the bottom a few times (didn't try that the 1st time). and as always, the phantom drop was a lot of fun. BMW's rock wall was scary. click on the pic for more pics.

What's the deal with the guys in the yellow rubber boots? They disposing of bodies while doing trail work?

they were city parks workers helping install a bridge across the creek... they were gone by the time I we were there on Saturday!

I have to say they were not the brightest bulbs in the string of Christmas lights we call life! By the pics, and explanation of the people who were there, they built the thing while standing in the stream.... for a bridge only a little over 2 feet wide, I would have built it on the ground next to the stream, or even in the shop and then placed it on the footers as a prebuilt structure instead they wear those big goofy boots and stand in the stream to nail on all the planking!

nope, Erci kept truckin' through. it was a tricky wheel catcher section on Asylum, after you roll down the rock face, but he was fine.

Oh for war movie afficinados, my wife bought me the extended version of the Big Red One. It added about 40 minutes of footage and it really made a good movie, great.

I like that flick. I love A Bridge Too Far better tho.

Not to brag or anything but the Paranormal is the best 6 hour race going. Starts at 4:00, Costumed riders get a few minutes head start. They play movies for the kids, bonfire and beer for everyone else. It is a party as much as a race.

We have two more regular races this year that have a 5-6 hour enduro category. I think I will end the year off on a bright spot and skip them.

Congrats on the win!!!! Sounds like a fun race to me!
