Awake, coffee, kid has skating this morning.

Garage door fell of the track last night. Repair guy got it fixed, I have some serious anger about it, whatever, I never go in there that's her problem.

Morning Monkeys.

So it seems I WAY over spec'ed my water heater, go figure. I went big not thinking of the wiring requirements, oops. So from 600W to 200W, maybe 2x 200W. But it seems like 1 might be plenty. I will know more once I get it together and test it all out.

wozer we got 2" of rain in the last 8 hours and it's windy as shit out there. Home gym day. Having guest over for dinner so I have a bit of "straightening up" to do. Making a Detroit style pizza with a sourdough crust for the dinner

but since I slept in and got 9 hours of sleep I will make some espresso and surf the web for a bit

on edit: apparently they issued a Tornado Warning for San Francisco this morning when doppler radar detected rotation in a thunder cell over the city

What is Detroit style pizza? Is it a hollowed out pizza with all of the toppings moved overseas?

Up from 1-4 am battling congestion related issues. I dare say I am down with the sickness. Feels like I just got over the last one...

Skipped the first child birthday party today, maybe I'll go to the second.

Just booked a car for out trip to Florida. We are leaving Wednesday. Opted for the safer solution with one of the big companies. There seems to be a lot of scammers that offer good rentals but a quick search offers only horror stories. What I don't understand is why there are not better rental deal sites with ratings by verified renters.

how you doing with your pain med situation?
Pretty much off of all pain meds, thankfully. Except for Doan’s, LOL.
But now it seems as if I have some kind of nerve desensitivity on the roof of my mouth. FFS, it just doesn’t end. I must have been a real prick to be getting such karmic retribution. Or something.
But hey, I’ll be able to shred again, so…

subfloor finally repaired. had to put in a bunch of supporting 2x4s as there was nothing under a few of corners/edges of some of the plywood due to how it had to be cut out. 14yo is currently cleaning out remaining debris. then spraying anti-mold around the edges, leveling a spot or two, and cutting the membrane to fit. then the mudding begins! also have to dig a hole to bury the dog sometime today. and also make pizza dough. WHEEEEEE!

Managed to get out for 20 miles today, but it was fuck-ass cold. I survived, but unhappily. I suppose it beats 5 days a week on the trainer. Thermal bibs, wool socks, overshoes, base layer top, thermal top, thermal jersey, fluoro vest, balaclava, winter gloves. Still cold fingers and toes.

Lil Man has his first tournament game today. They got blown out the first game 21-58, so I hope they have learned something.

Huh. Just sat next to a fella (on the germtube) who got busted about 10 years ago for building illegal mtn bike trails in a Delaware park. I guess there was a Dirtrag article about him back in the day.

Super slow day. Highlight was that the bakery had sourdough croissants today, yay me!
They resulted in a long nap after breakfast though. :lazy2:

Chocolate sourdough croissants?
Unfortunately not.
Last spring I inspired the baker to experiment with them and he offered them a couple of times. Issue here was that he only uses organic ingredients (and most of them originate from the farm that he is loacted at). Dark organic chocolate is surprisingly difficult to source (I was looking for it myself after I heard that). So he used an OK chocolate, not as dark as it should have been. They sold OK, but are only offered once in a while.
It is a micro bakery, only open Wednesdays and Saturdays. He offers, as standard items, 2-3 different types of breads, one type of the traditional Danish rye bread, bread rolls and cardamom pastries. Additionally he usually has 1-2 types of baked goods, like chocolate croissants, cookies, apple pastries, focaccia, ...all sourdough. This shifts with the season.
