I'm starting to come to the conclusion that Manitou is having problems with consistency in manufacturing, as some forks are horrendous pieces of garbage and some are absolutely amazing (I've ridden the gold label street, totally awesome. first manitou i've ever liked). They need to check their control charts and get within 6 sigma :clue:

Yeah, like others have said, you never know what you're gunna get with manitou. One fork is great, the next is a POS. They need to be more consistent like Marzocchi, where everything is average, RS, where everything sucks or Fox, where its all good.

Blind faith. Got to love it.
My Fox sounds like crap over small bumps as if the headset is loose or something, but when I stand up and get into it, that fork feels better than any fork I've ridden.

i would not have paid $400 for it, but I won't change it for anything.

I have a Z1 that has to go in for warranty. I have another that will likely be going. Both 06s. I still really dig the company, but I wouldn't mind the Nixon Comp either. Greenfish has had that deal for months though.
