mtbr has a few reviews on it but no pics. Looks like it's an older bike cuz the last review was from 2003. Personally, I've never heard of it, but from my experience, most K2's are cookie cutter frames. Pics and a spec sheet maybe?

I don't think it'll be the best for DH, but it should stay in one piece as long as he doesn't put a bigger fork on it. Should be okay for him if he's just beginning.

The only difference between brake models is adjustability. The performance is the same, so don't dwell on that too hard.

Thank you both... based on what you guys said & mtbr it seems like a good starter bike. Though, I haven't seen it myself. I guess we'll find out when we hit the trails in a week or two... he just texted me to tell me he bought it. Besides, anything's an upgrade from his Wal-mart Schwinn.
