How is everybody today?

I had a freaking awesome ride last night. Do you ever have one of thoes rides where you just never want it to get dark?

I keep getting flats and I have NO idea why. Last night on my way back to the car I got a flat on my front tire after flying thru some rough sections.
Do you think it could have anything to do with the tires I'm running? I'm running pretty high pressure because I'm no light weight but I'm getting flats all the f'ing time and I know I don't weigh THAT much...

I used to deal with the same thing. I got to a point where my riding style was a bit more agressive and I would flat all the time. I switched to tubeless via stans and everything was fine. Since then I have become a lot smoother but still prefer tubeless.

Ate at Dinosaur BBQ last night - lots of beer, good food...damn good
Got home late - my ass is dragging today.

Stosh, which tire/tube combo are you running? Getting pinch flats or punctures?

Morn Stosh. I had a great ride as well last night. Sorry to hear about the flat tires. For a week that was forecasted to be a rain-out, it's looking pretty nice out here.

Hrmmmm, I'm running some pretty beefy tires too. I have a brand new set of Kenda Kinetics I'm putting on tonight to see if that helps.....

seems like pinch flats but I haven't spent the time to check all the tubes. It's both front and rear thats giving me the problem.

Mornin'.

What an awesome day here today. Perfect riding weather. Made me wish my commute was longer.

A good friend showed me some new trails last night that kicked ass. Went with Tweek and this fast dude from work. Gonna be hitting those trails a LOT more :thumb:

Stosh, go tubeless dude.

yeah it's been cool and as soon as the sun sets the sweat between my back and the camelbak tends to get chilly.

Stan's tubeless or tubeless wheels?

I ran tubeless on my last bike because it came with tubeless tires, this one didn't.

Saw a knee specialist yesterday. He says I have arthritis in my left knee. I'm not sure how to take, I should be able to ride but this is not something that will ever really go away. Aleve will be my new best friend.

Either one. I run UST with some Stan's goop in there to take care of punctures. After I got home from Old Pueblo I pulled 3 huge thorns out of my tires. No flats.

Morning everyone. Went for a ride last night, and started to do some packing for North Carolina.

Stosh, I run Stan's tubeless and it was the best thing I ever did for my bike. It actually made me a better rider since I'd be more inclined to aggressively fly through stuff or bunny hop rocks that were outside of my comfort zone - since I didn't have to worry about flatting if I cased it.

Check your rim tape.

I don't think I've ever pinch flatted a front, and I'm a fat hack.

Big Bummer - but at least now you know it is only a pain issue and you won't be really doing any damage to it. Motrin might be your new friend too.

Yah, I opted to get just the local anesthesia so they just injected something in my spinal cord that numbed me from like the mid torso down. They also gave me something that made me feel like I'd had 3 martinis so I was a bit loopy, but I got to watch the whole thing on a big screen. The Dr. cruised around with a little drill thingie and when he got to the backside of my kneecap his exact words were, "WHOA, well, I can tell you weren't faking this pain." My reply, "No ****." :) What I saw looked like a jellyfish. You know how all their tentacles hang down and then they can open them all up? Well the cartliage looked like that instead of being a smooth surface. So he "drilled it down" and got ride of all the flaps.

Now I just have to worry about blood clots. My calf this morning hurts like hell and it really shouldn't...I'm worried.

Well I had my bike at the shop because I went to bunny hope a tree and my rear tire came right down on the tree with my full weight and I bent a spoke. I thought the wheels were going to be tensioned by the shop I bought it from but they never were. Anyway when the shop took the tire off they found a piece of metal floating around my rim from the machining process. Thats always good for tubes!

I hope they were able to take care of your problem. And let the doc know about your calf, we don't need RM's own rockstar to have anymore problems.

Pinch flats or thorn holes?

What tires are you running? Is the sidewall thin/weak? I've found that some tires are much more prone to flatting than others - part of the reason why I really like my contis.
