exercise and weight loss is a funny thing. I'm getting waaaay more exercise now than I normally would (winter or summer), but I've been holding steady with my weight. For me, cycling doesn't really help me lose weight, and I'm not sure why. But if I change things up and do 30 minutes on the treadmill instead of 60 minutes on the trainer... It's gotta have somethign to do with how your body is conditioned... I'm used to riding and working those muscles, but not used to running...
