I hear ya man. I'm maintaining/maybe losing a small amount. With the amount of cardio I've been doing I should be dropping pounds like crazy. Getting old sucks.
exercise and weight loss is a funny thing. I'm getting waaaay more exercise now than I normally would (winter or summer), but I've been holding steady with my weight. For me, cycling doesn't really help me lose weight, and I'm not sure why. But if I change things up and do 30 minutes on the treadmill instead of 60 minutes on the trainer... I'll start dropping lbs like crazy.

It's gotta have somethign to do with how your body is conditioned... I'm used to riding and working those muscles, but not used to running...

morning, monkeys.

had a strange workout last night. figured it was the usual thurs night spin class, but i forgot that they set up 'movie night', where they had a screen, plug a laptop into the sound system and throw in a projector for the movie. this one you had to sign up for, and for some reason i thought it was on an off-night. oh well, figured i'd hit the treadmill. 2 of the 4 were broken, and the other in use. plan C: stairmaster. ugh, i hate those things.

well, after 15 minutes on that, one of the treadmills was free, so i switched to that. 5 minutes later, one of the guys in the spin night came out saying he got a call and had to leave, so i could use his bike. sweet! i switch my shoes, adjust his bike (damn some people really like high handlebars), and hop on. the movie is _Old School_, even better! Frank the Tank!! anyway, that's going well for ~25 minutes, as i alternate between sitting/standing/high friction/high spin.

then the guy comes back. i figured he was nice enough to let me know he had to leave, so i give the bike back to him, switch my shoes again and finish my 3 mile run on the treadmill.

i think i'm ready for the triathlon.

finished _The Magician's Nephew_ last night, so _The Last Battle_ will be this weekend's goal.

Hey Stoshy. Happy Friday! Finally. Just biding my time till I can get out of here and go visit my mom upstate for the weekend. Should be a good time, as I haven't been up there in awhile.

Had a weird commute last night. 9W (not far from my house) was closed due to the fact that someone had robbed a bank in Ulster, shot some people, fled the scene, drove south, only to abandon his car, invade a nearby house and hold a 70-year-old man hostage. The helicoptors were still circling when I went to bed last night.

I finished Voyage of the Dawn Treader a couple nights ago. Working on Time Traveler's Wife right now.

I read Magician's Nephew first - the box set I received for Xmas had a note that CSL wrote it later but meant it to be the first book in the series.

yeah, TM'sN chronicles the creation of Narnia, and how various stuff got there (like the witch and the lamp post).

maybe it's placing in the series is akin to Tolkien's Silmarillion, which (i think) covered the early days of Middle Earth prior to The Hobbit.

I didn't think it was possible to drink that much Miller. F'ing YUCK!!

It is possible.......and re-occurs quite often. I make no apoligies about my love of cheap beer. But let me remind you all......beer is the lower eschelon of alcohol. Being a beer snob is very much akin to being the smartest kid on the short bus. :p

Wow, that guy has already escaped from a prison. I feel bad for the guy he held hostage, especially since his wife just died. It was kind of cool to see the FBI, Swat team on the way home from work though. I usually just see pissed off people on their cell phones.

We always have awesome Troegs Beer cause Maurice the man behind Dirt Rag is involved with PORC, and Troegs trades AD space in DR for Beer... it is a win win situation!!!

I'm visiting other people who may not appreciate some of the things I find amusing.

And the black midget tranny porn is on my F drive. In it's own hidden folder. Deep within another directory. I've said too much.

Excellent. I'll check it out then.

Dancin' over rocks n' roots!
Good morning! Took the day off so I could relax and maybe encourage this baby to make her appearance. :p I'm thinking of going out to shovel the deck off and perhaps grab my snowmobile for a little ride, but Sq-Earl's not so sure either is a good idea  He thinks I should take a nice hot relaxing bath instead...I told him it would be more fun after either of my suggested activities

Anyway, maternity leave officially begins today and I still don't have a baby to keep my busy so it'll be more housework and cooking I guess. Sq-Earl's gonna get fat if this keeps up :D

You going to read them all in order of just skip to the last one? LOL! I just finished the first 3 in 3 days...gotta kill time somehow :D
no, i've read 'em in the proper order (LW&W first).

next on my reading list is either a re-read of Martin Amis' _Money_ (which i recall being amazingly hilarious) or Ian McEwan's _Saturday_ (though my wife have that as her next book club choice, so i'd have to wait a bit).

Morning all,

Turning in my notice today, have mixed feelings about it. Start the new job on 2/13/06. Ate a breakfast burro and I've got gas that would kill a horse. Saw the tranny picture and almost spewed.

Morning. Not much going on here today. The baby is now 9 days old, so the highlights of my day are eating, napping and pooping. Yeehaw. I am going snowboarding up at Gore Mtn. this Sunday for the first time this year. Can;t wait to get out and do something athletic for a change.
