not to much planned today.. have to get home.. finish putting down the rest of the baseboard moulding in the back bedroom, and then get to Happy hour. if i start running late we will skip the moulding

saturday we have plans to hike at Pyramid Mountain, and sunday riding at Voorhies state park....FUN FUN FUN ahead!! I love good weather.. come on spring!!!!

Had a good ride last night with the guys from DirtRag, and then we had a trail maintenance meeting at DR Headquarters... we are trying to get approval to convert unused sections of city and county parks, as well as unused sections off of the sides of highways around the city to make paths for mtb'ers... hopefully linking up more of the existing trails... providing more of a cohesive trail system

I had the wind knocked out of me soooo badly. I couldn't move, Aubrey was down the hill a bit and saw I wasn't moving, she flipped out and came running back up the hill. It was funny because I tried to start my 360 to early and in doing so I threw myself sideways off the jump instead of straight on. I went to the side/top of the jump and land on the edge of the jump smashing my ribs/arm off the top corner of the jump. I fell the 5' to the ground and couldn't move because I couldnt' get any air in my lungs. Just before I landed on the jump my friend behind me goes "Oh schit" so I knew I was in trouble a second before I hit the jump.

Kaboom!!!

That's the sound of a gap jump gone horribly wrong.

Happened to me yesterday, and what little shred of ACL I had left intact in my right knee has now gone the way of the dodo bird. I was really pumped up yesterday while riding and was hitting everything really aggressive. I knew I was going too fast into the jump but figured I would scrub some speed on the takeoff and everything would be fine. Wrong. When I hit the takeoff, it was like I had a jet pack or something. Got a really huge boost and was in the air for what seemed like an eternity. Saw the lander come up, and then saw it it go completely by. I ended up landing on the flat from way up there with my right leg kinda extended a little further than I had wished. The impact bottomed both rear shock and front fork and a searing pain went right up from my knee. As soon as I landed, I knew it was toast. I limped back to the truck and called it a day. Time for a beer, a few Advil, and a rummage through the closet to find that long-lost knee brace. Sleeping on it was agony last night and this morning is not that much better. I'm probably going to slide by the doc later on today and see what he says about it. Ouchie.

Other than that, yesterday was pretty decent. Picked up a fresh keg for the fridge and plan on getting into that after work today while watching the ACC basketball tournament.

Friday and doughnut day at work! Got to drive the wife's car in today so the commute was fun.

Looks like rain finally this weekend so will probably get knocked out of riding, if that's the case may take the kids up north to play in the snow.

I have had a cold ALL week long that I can't shake. I have been working, worked out the last two days, but I still feel like a frosty white dog turd hardening on a nice spring day.

todays going to be a good day, 40 degrees this morning and its supposed to get up to 60 so im sporting shorts, a t-shirt, and my kick ass flip flops. im getting some strange looks in the hallways but i dont care. its going to be so nice this weekend. i have to go to work for 2 hours and then afterwards im going to this thing called mr. ahs. its pretty much like a male beauty pageant except its more of an emphasis on the guys losing their dignity instead of their asses in a speedo. its a high school event for junior guys but im not in it. i have a bunch of friends in it so there is no way im going to miss it. hopefully ill get some riding in this weekend but im heading up to loon on sunday for the 4th time this season. my dad and i will probably be just barely getting our moneys worth out of our season passes.
