How is everybody today?

I'm looking forward to a family reunion at my in-laws tomorrow. Nothing like a day of horseshoes and beer! :)

I'm going to try and squeeze in a ride Sunday morning though.

Hello! What a cheerful Friday morning! This weekend is supposed to be GORGEOUS...sunny and 65 right through Monday. And I have the Monday Columbus Day holiday off. HOORAY! I'm riding all three days.

I need more beer.

Morning! My coworker is leaving today, so that is a bit sad. I got him some whisky as a present though! :D We have a farewell lunch for him, complete with beer, and then I am off for the rest of the day... off to the mountains for some hiking, pool, beer, hot tub, and other fun! Woohoo! Enjoy the weekend, everyone. :)

Watchin' you. Writing it all down.
The theme for the day is keeping the rain to a minimum. With my newly "pushed" fork I want to get more riding time.

Went riding last night but left a little late. We pushed hard but still got caught by darkness. Riding in the woods in the dark without lights is interesting. One of the guys rode straight into a tree.

Out of my mind, back in a moment.
Morning.

First exam of the tri is done, and went well. I'm still looking into lights and trying to figure out what I want to spend my money on. Not sure if I need a HID for the amount of riding I'm likely going to do, or if I can get away with a halogen. Tough decision.

Not much on the docket today. I've got one more class and then I'm free to do whatever I like. I may come home and take a nap to try and nip this head cold in the butt first though.

'morning all.

Here's a very patient, very sedate toad that I snapped last night.

He was sitting in the absolute pitch black, and it took me probably 15 shots to get his eye in focus. He didn't move a bit.

Headed to TN tonight... Found out that the place Greyhound suggested that we visit is only an hour closer than the place we're going, so the suggestion of saving gas money is moot as we have a free place to stay in TN ;)

.... beer, hot tub, and other fun! :)

I'm not even touching that one.......anyone want to take the joke and run with it here?

Good morning, everyone!
Not much to report......got my hair cut yesterday, visited my parents for a little bit, and went out for pizza later on. A nice evening. We're getting pounded with rain today, so it looks like any riding I was planning today or tomorrow is axed. Maybe Sunday will be better.

We're meeting with the bank today to get pre-approved for a home loan so we can start looking for a house. Should be interesting.

Found out I got a little 1% bonus for busting my ass last month in Chicago. Already spent it on an i-Bike power meter and some new spokes for a wheel I was having problems with. So of course I tested out the powermeter on the wet roads last night, it seems to crap out on rough roads and when sprinting I may have to return it. Then it was beer and wheel building time.

Trails are getting leafy!! So fun to powerslide corners now with the wet leaves!!! Got a weddinfg to go to tomorrow night but will be riding some DH at Bolton on Sunday!!! Maybe the last day of lifts for the year....

morning folks,

Had open house and got bullied by the parents of a kid with special needs last night. I know they are telling me to provide FAR MORE support than his IEP tells me he is entitled too.... and I just don't have the energy to argue my position with them.

I am dragging @$$ today, and am super glad it is Friday!

tons of stuff to do this weekend, hopefully I can squeeze in a ride!

Have a good day all!

Sounds like you need more non-ride time with these Mudhunnies and slightly less riding (I know I know that's kinda crazy, but you said earlier this week that you may have overtrained earlier this season - so don't over ride during your recovery dude).

Just make sure he is always sitting near a sick kid. Let him stay home as much as possible so his parents can give him his special needs.

Morning. Did nothing last night. Had planned on riding tonight, but the wife is still sick so I'm on kid duty again. Tomorrow we're headed up to Gore Mtn. for their Fall Festival. Ride the gondola up the mountain and hike down with the kids. Should be a blast! They also have a HUGE ski swap/demo sale and since I'm in the market for a new board/bindings/boots, I'm hoping to find a great deal! Hoping to get a ride in on Sunday too if all works out!! :)

OK, you win. I tried to warn you.......when you get back on Mon., be sure to let me know just how "pleasant" that drive was. I mean, don't believe the guy who's lived here his whole life.......

I don't anticipate the drive to be pleasant... But on the other hand, I don't anticipate a 6 hour drive to the place you suggested to be pleasant, either, so 7 isn't such a stretch ;)

Besides, these are old family friends and it'll be nice to see them again.

Floating down the Hudson
Nice Pic, BV

I went on a night ride and had a huge toad hop over my front wheel last night. I tried out a friend's nightrider on my helmet and found that after abotu an hour, it gave me a wicked headache. It was heavier and positioned further up on my head than the Lume. I had to switch halfway through the ride. Anyone else have this problem or know if Nightrider fixed this problem (this was an '02)?

I came into work today and was told to call the local newspaper to look into a classified add for my job. How weird. I've been going head to head with HR trying to use my floating holidays before I leave. Finally my boss told me to take Mon. off and that she'd just say I'm working from home :) Long weekend

I got nothing for the weekend but cleaning the garage and hopefully a ride with my homey up north.

It looks like my travel plans to CT are getting dicked up by a co-worker I am travelling with, so I may not get to meet up with Splat for a brew, but I am still working on logistics.

Yo. Saw Jackass 2 last night. I almost puked from laughing so hard. It was good. I maintain that if you can't laugh at that movie you're dead inside...nothing but a walking sack of water.

Canadian Thanksgiving this weekend so no work on Monday. :weee: Probably a short ride tonight, some trail work tomorrow, and some DHing on Sunday...Monday is up in the air.
