So excited it's Friday!! :D I am sneaking out early today... sometime between 12 and 2, woohoo. Not much planned for the weekend; probably relaxing, enjoying the sunshine, and spending more $ on house stuff. My bank account and I can't wait for the first of the year. Have a good weekend, all! :)

Today is going to be a good day for me! Working in the office for about a half-day, putting in a couple of hours at the rock gym this afternoon, and then goin' out for sushi tonight!

This weekend, I've got the Tour de Fat tomorrow and Sunday I'm doing my friends' annual Fat Man's Pass hike.

We close on the 29th of December, so I will have everything purchased that we need (major expenses), in addition to paying the rest of my closing costs. After that, it will be several months before using any of my savings again.

Morning. Did nothing last night. Doing nothing tonight. Tomorrow will be good though. SMBA has a trail maintenance day tomorrow morning and we're going to be cutting some new singletrack and beginning some bridge work. After that I plan on getting a 2-3 hour ride in with some peeps. :) Sat. night my neighbor across the street is having a halloween bash, so the wife and I got a sitter and we plan on drinking everyone there under the table as we usually do.

With a new house you aren't finished shelling out $'s when you close on the house.... there's still, landscaping, window treatments, furniture........... the list goes on for 15 months...

do you have some recent photos of the project?

By "all the major expenses" she means she's already bought window treatments, furniture, and most of the list that goes on for 15 months :p. All the small stuff is tucked away in our closets, bathroom, bedroom, etc. You should see it. We have two small carpets and one big carpet, several bags and a shovel in the bedroom. There's a mailbox and a pile of other stuff in the guest bathroom. Patio furniture is in the office. The living room furniture is awaiting delivery. And the builder does a landscaping that will be okay to start.

I think I have a couple pictures I can scrounge up.

Right, but those are things I am talking about buying now. I have, and am in the process of buying, everything we need. I bought a new living room set, am buying a new bedroom set, washer/dryer, area rug, and just bought all my window treatments. The builder is doing landscaping for us: mulch, bushes, sidewalks, so I will just be buying a couple trees in the spring.

Mornin Stosh.

Was going to ride last night, but got rained out. Actually, last night I would have delt with a bit of rain... so to be accurate, I should probably say that the ride got downpoured out. It was the hardest I've seen it rain in a long time.

Another boring day at work... but I'm ducking out early to meet with a divorce lawyer. Not much on the docket after that. Should be a quiet weekend around the house.

Pictures of the current work. Don't mind the labeling, Jenn's dad was very confused about what our closets looked like after looking at the first picture, so Jenn clarified for him :D

The kitchen is small but there is a good amount of counter space and lots of cabinets so I'm pretty happy with it!

I'm still on a high from getting engaged this past week, don't really have any big plans for the weekend. Shul tonight, work tomorrow, hang out on Sunday.

The kitchen looks just fine. I think a small efficient kitchen is far better than a huge one.

What kind of trim base/crown are you going with?

I've finished my custom home that I was working on this summer and now I'm about 1/4 of the way into a spec house (we are finishing the framing this week - elec/plumb/hvac/AV all in next week, then sheet rock the week after.

No crown molding because of the cathedral ceilings throughout.

Base trim is just standard stuff. We saw it in the other houses and it looked fine, I don't know what the specific name of the style was. Some Google image searches aren't turning up what I think it is, but suffice to say it is simple and plain.

Today is the last day here at this job. Tomorrow I head to Aggieland for the wife to attend Medical Librarian's Association South Central Chapter conference. I have the girl in a strange town all weekend. Wish me luck. I am heading to San Diego on Tuesday for nearly a week. I should be seeing Shyrmp, Orven, lovebunny, bjanga, Ciaran and hopefully others. I am pretty excited. There is already a night ride on Wednesday and a weekend camping trip (in a pop up) to Laguna, or something like that, with a ride at Noble Canyon. I should have some good pics with a trip and ride report. I start at the shop either on Halloween or Nov 1. I am exciting. Woot Woot.

There sure are a lot of "I's" in that paragraph and not so many "We's." :brow:

Help a sistah out, BV.......damn. :busted:

Got nothing planned this weekend except for some trail maintainence on Sunday and a little riding if the weather stays nice. I'm ordering a light for night riding this weekend......I'm thinking about getting the NiteRider Enduro helmet-mounted system from Jenson at $269. Seems like a pretty stout light for a decent price.

She knew going into the house deal that it was going to be her bucks, not mine while I'm in school... so I've got no sympathy for my sugar momma :p

Great appreciation, certainly. But no sympathy ;)

If the rain stops, I'm riding in the Gunks this weekend with a group. Other than that, Rob and I will be visiting the LBS and hopefully checking out a friend's BMX race tonight.

Other than that, it's about gearing up for my last week at my job. We have a huge party we throw every year next week and then I've been told my farewell lunch is on Wed.

Nice! I bought a Light and Motion Arc for about the same price last week during Nashbar's 20% off sale. It just needs to stop raining so I can use it!

I had a question about your SS Redline.... how do you like it? does it have disc tabs? I am thinking about picking up a '06 26" monocog (I can get a great deal on it....) but I know the 07 flight is now a good cromo frame with disks and a removeable dropout that can be switched to a gear'd bike! I think I may just get the 06 cause of the cost...

Why are you driving to NYC to go to Diablo?
because it's a lot closer to where i live to Diablo.

i'm staying @ a friend's place in the village, and we're meeting friends from NJ @ diablo early. beats having to start driving @ 4AM tomorrow.

you gonna show up?

Yeah......It's gotten to the point where I have to do something about getting more riding in during the weekdays or else I'm gonna blow up like Kirstie Allie at a Krispy Kreme sleepover.
