I'm doing the yearly trek to Moab soon. So I need new tyres after all. What do you go with for Amasa Back , Slick rock , Porcipine Rim ect?

old tires. A week in Moab will wear out tires and its so dry and rocky there, tread is kind of irrellevant. Ritchey used to sell a special fat slick with ridges way over on the edges especially for rock. I think the ridges were supposed to give the rider a tactile feel for when they were too much on edge.

Personally I'g go for something fat for floatation through sand and cushion on the rock.

I agree - you don't need a whole lot of tire to ride Moab - it's like riding on sandpaper.

whatevers cheapest....it doesnt matter because the tread will be gone when you are done....no sticky rubber though...you will eat through that in a few hours

WTB Motoraptor 2.4's big footprint and usually on the takoff tire hook at the lbs for cheap!

A cheap, big tire is the call for Moab

My reccomendation for Moab: rent a bike, I trashed my forks and pedals on the first ride!

Cheap - but don't use tires with square profiles and tall side knobs. You need maximum side traction for off-camber rock.

Like the old python I have. A rounded profile . If it only coverts to tubeless I be set ,cheap.
