Good Morning Monkey's

How was everyone's weekend? Not to bad here, we have a few false labors over the weekend. Still no baby!

Question Of the Day. What days are you taking off this week?

I'm off every day after tomorrow

Hey bumm,

It was an excellent weekend with Beth. We had lots of fun, went out to a couple good little restaurants in town, watched Super Size Me (ugh, McDonalds....gross) and Manchurian Cantidate. Both great flicks, and some good other fun sprinkled in among things.

Today...nothing much. Two classes, which are going to be really short of attendance, since a ot of people took off Friday afternoon for the week.

I'm done tomorrow around 12:45 or so. Wednesday we get off.

Morning. I worked all weekend, so not much to report. Pretty quiet here at work for a Monday morning. I've got to swing my new ride by the LBS on my way home to have a new rear hub laced up and then she will be finished! Planning on taking it on it's maiden voyage Thurs. morning....can't wait. :)

I work tomorrow and then have Wed., Thurs., Fri. off. But, those are my scheduled days off this week, so no special "vacation days" for me.

'Morning, monkeys. A rather uneventful weekend, aside from MBC's new car. I worked a good part of yesterday, then had a playoff hockey game at night which we LOST. The goddamn other goalie played an awesome game. Game two is in a week.

I have to work every day except Thursday. I'm too busy to take any more time off. :(

Helped build some trails up at Highland Mountain. Place looks very sweet and promising. However...when it came time to ride all the ball bearings fell out of my headset. I stuffed whatever I could back in and rode as is, kinda grainy and unprecise, but it worked until I can get another. So question of the day, Race Face Diabolus, or Chris King?

Good morning all!,

Rode El Tour De Tucson this weekend, 109 miles. Finished but didn't really have a very good finishing time. I hurt my knee a few weeks back and I've been unable to train. Up until Friday I thought I was going to miss the race. I bike commuted for the first time since injuring the knee on Thursday. Friday I felt fine, no pain, so I went for it.

It's amazing to be in the start of a bike event with 4,500+ other riders. The mass start was tricky. Saw a couple of accidents, dropped sliding water bottles are very dangerous!!!! At least one person they took away in a neck brace. Another went airborne after hitting a bottle and landed in a heap, then started flopping and twitching!!. When I stopped he was complaining he couldn't move his arm, and was in intense pain. Probably a dislocated (and/or seperated) shoulder. Before I could call for help there was a bike patrol person there.

I made some tactical errors, I got in with a group of gold riders that were too fast for me, After an hour of flirting with my max heart rate, I bonked..badly. For half an hour I crawled along,..every time I tried to get in a group I fell of the back after a couple of minutes. I never really fully recovered. The hills out of Sabino Canyon are murder. I was almost back to a "gold" pace when I was stopped by a train, which was a mile or so long and barely moving. That was the final straw. I went back to an aid station had some cookies and water, rode back to the train tracks and waited. It took me an hour and a half to do the last 23 miles. I finally recovered a bout 2 miles from the finish and was riding 20 mph by myself when I finished. Both of the guys I trained with before I hurt my knee got "gold", under six hours. I had fun, regardless of my finishing time.

Had a great weekend. Saw a few movies, did some errands and some baking. Got a new computer desk and doing some reorganizing of the house. Looking for a touch screen monitor, so I can set up a wireless computer in my game room to use as a jukebox. Spent some time with my lady friend (I'm all smiles today). Baked a cheesecake, and some cookies.

Vacation starts tuesday after work. Wednesday I'm getting a ride to the audi dealer, getting my car and going straight up to VT to see the rents for turkey day, bringing my snowboard with me too. Coming back monday evening next week.

hey monkeys -

friday night the wife went to dinner w/ friends so i had the guys. when they went to bed i watched a movie (_Last Tango In Paris_). now i know all about the infamous 'butter' scene.

sat i did a whole lot of nothing; a bit of pre-xmas scouting stuff but malls suck. did find some good books though. went to see echo & the bunnymen that night w/ some friends. good show but a $40 parking ticket afterward sucked.

yesterday did a bit of yardwork outside, went for a run, practiced manuals in the road, and cooked up some short ribs. my wife and i also bought our xmas gift to each other.

I got a couple of great rides in this weekend. I have had a bad habit of going OTB lately on my Yeti, I think I need to change my set up. My reach to the bars is too short and I think it puts my center of gravity up too high and forward. I'll order up a set back post and hope that helps.

A friend of mine is expecting a baby and had to clean out a room for the little munchkin. As a result I have a fancy universal weight thingy in my basement. Perfect timing too, I was just getting back to my offseason weight lifting.

Yes it is an excellent morning. I received a call a moment ago from my new boss. I have a new job! An excellent new job that pays awesome! I am totally psyched. I got my life back. Paperwork today then I start tomorrow by going to NYC. Benes paid for, new car, phone, laptop. expense account, work from home. I real actual f'n job. I must have applied for 100 jobs, gone on 20 interviews, taken 4 pee tests, and made 1000 calls. I can't believe I actually got the "shoot for the stars" media job I dreamed about. I will miss the bike shop:think:.

Good Morning Monkies...
Sounds like a lot of monkies had great weekends!!!!
Congrats on the century guys!!!!
Saturday was the first in months that I havent worked so I planned to make the best of it. I grabbed a good buddy of mine and went to do some offorad riding. we started out slow on the bike but then everything seemed to feel good. kinda like in the zone. I havent seen him in a while so the converstaion was high, while all along we just pedaled along... next thing you know we are 11 miles into our ride and already heading back to the car... I enjoyed the ride tremendously but also felt like i missed something.
Sunday i had a 7:30am football game.. we wound up beating last years champions which is a huge turn-around for our team. i threw rather well .. 4 td's and no interceptions. Our defense really picked up and stopped them several times.. all good things.
Coming off our win I was all pumped and decided to go hiking. My wife and I headed to South Mountain reserve in NJ. lots of fun.. 3 1/2 hr hike.. lots of water crossings, a waterfall, a river , a pond .. all good stuff.

today back to work until wed.. then the turkey festivites begin!!!!!

Long weekend....my body is tired. Took a dj lesson on Saturday for 3+ hours. Rode on Sunday for 17 miles. My arm was so tired towards the end of the ride I couldn't muster the effort to get my front wheel over half of the logs so I just ran into them:nope:

Dancin' over rocks n' roots!
Good afternoon monkeys. I managed to catch one hell of a cold this weekend that has rendered me virtually useless today. My balance is off as my left ear is completely plugged so I am moving very little and trying to rest as much as I can. Have a Dr. apt this afternoon, but I am not really thinking that they will be able to help much as I really can't take all that many meds these days :(

Other than that, I am trying to force myself to eat...haven't had an appetite in 2 days and that can't be good for my little monster. I suppose she's getting enough nourishment, but I definitely worry as I have gone from eating 5-6 small snack/meals per day to 2-3 snacks and that's all I have the energy and willpower to do.

Mancil - keep us updated on the baby front...any day now seems like your little guy will be here!

This weekend was homework, homework, homework, and more homework, with the occasional and unneeded RM distraction, followed by more homework. I'm heading to the library after I finish my cereal.

Good morning, or afternoon as the case may be. Actually busy at work today.

Got in two excellent rides over the weekend, one short and technical the other long and fast. The weather is now perfect for riding!

Have a good day!
