How was everyone's weekend??

Lots of hockey for me and the boys. Did a bunch of bike maintenance work on Sunday too. Love doing that.

Need to work on my front derailleur adjusting skills however. Changed Laura's bike over to a two ring/bashguard set up and needed to lower the front derailleur. I think I have it lowered to the right spot and it shifts up and down from granny to middle just fine. Just need to adjust it to prevent it from shifting to the big ring that's not there anymore. Which of those two srews handles that the one closest to the frame or the other one???:clue:

Watchin' you. Writing it all down.
Panthers won again in Baltimore. I got a ride on Saturday and Sunday. Cleaned out the family filing cabinet. I found that we did have an extended warranty on out fritzy phone so that goes back to Best Buy today.

But more importantly that my wife did buy an extended warranty on her car (she forgot) and that potentially is going to be a stack of bills that are going back to the dealership for some negotiation.

Morning Monkeys!!!

Has a great ride at Ringwood on saturday.. got a little lost but its fine when your on a bike.. it really sucks if your hiking. The trails were in great conditon and no problems were had.. plus the weather was PERFECT!!
Sunday we won our football game, we beat last years champions so I guess we are doing well.
I am working nights for a few weeks which lets me ride during the day, so this morning I went to Hartshorne woods right from work. Luckily I brought my lights because there was still an hour of darkness until daybreak.. Hope you all had a great weekend and enjoy the day

Out of my mind, back in a moment.
Nice weekend up here with Beth. Saturday we hung around Ithaca and plundered EMS, then had a nice dinner at the local cajun place. We rode in Ithaca yesterday, and I ate it on a 4' tall ladder bridge. Bike ditched fine, and I went down face first on the bridge. That hurt.

Other than that, exam this morning was tough, and the one wednesday will be rough too. Not much else to report.

me too. I started taking apart my hardtail I figured i'd take every part off of it, clean each part then reinstall. Then I figured while the frame was bare id have it repainted.. needless to say everything is still on my bench untouched for 3 weeks :disgust:

Morning all! Had a good weekend. :) Went and played bingo Fri. night at my daughter's school as part of a fundraiser. Wona $20 G.C. to Dunkin Donuts!! WooHoo! Sat. my wife went shopping with her mom and took the baby, and I dropped Piper off at a friends house and went to visit my dad in the hospital. The rest of Sat. was spent playing with the kids. Yesterday we all went to the pumpkin patch, goit some 'kins, drank some cider, corn maze, etc... I'll get some pics up tomorrow... Going grocery shopping tonight... Yuck!

Mornin all. I had a pretty good weekend. Friday I did some much needed work on my bike, then got in a solid trail ride. I spent Saturday at Penn State tailgating (read: eating and drinking way more than any one person should eat or drink) and watching the game. Sunday was spent recovering from Saturday.

Strong work on the camping, Burley. That takes balls(assuming yours have made their way back down after freezing them into submission) to camp in Pisgah in the Fall. I hear ya on cleaning the bike---I've never ridden anyplace that eats up parts with just dirt alone like Pisgah does. Glad you had a good time!!

The wife was out of town for the weekend, so the dog and I hung out and ate pizza for a couple of days. I played in a golf tournament on Sat. for charity. They gave each team a Blackberry that you entered your score on and then it was displayed real-time on several scoreboards all over the course so you could track everyones progress. Very cool. Like being a professional.......well......except for the scores, that is.

Dancin' over rocks n' roots!
Morning all! I had a wonderful weekend of riding and chillin' with Syd & Sq-Earl.

Friday we hit the trails for a nice loop after work. I felt strong and was riding really well. I did manage 2 crashes when I got cocky in a techy rock garden and had the crash that never ends (I managed to get off balance, one foot unclipped and kept trying to find a good bail point) and then I went OTB following a REALLY steep sketchy section of trail (generally we go to the right, but I aparently felt like taking the WonderWoman approach). The best part of it was that I rolled right out of it and didn't get hurt at all. Finished up just as it was getting dark and hit the local pub for dinner & beers.

Saturday was clean the lawn day and I spent 2 1/2 hours operating the leaf blower while Syd took a nap & played with Daddy. Some well-earned beers followed by a quiet night at home.

Sunday was AWESOME!!! We got up early, played with Syd & had a nice family breakfast. My mother came over to babysit while we hit the trails. It was still frosty and cold when we started, but we had a great ride. (For those locals, we hit "Stone Wall", "Dam Extension", "Dam", "Peninsula" "Inner Loop" and "107) I managed to crash hard twice (first was an OTB that wasn't too bad...although I did get hit in the head by my tire but the second was the killer) and hurt myself this time...I have some nice pain in my left hip/groin from the handlebars and my back (left side near my shoulder blade) is tweeked pretty good. I really went down hard and am a little surprised I am not more hurt than I am.

After my nice hard ride, I hit the showers and headed to the Spa to redeem my birthday gift. I spent the afternoon at the Roosevelt Baths & Spa Roosevelt Baths. I soaked in a hot herbal mineral bath for a while, had a nice massage, petite facial & paraffin hand dip then I hit the steam room for a short rest and headed home.

Made a delicious assortment of roasted fall veggies and grilled up a nice steak. Finished off the day with Syd in my arms and a nice glass of Merlot!

We have good bags and had a good fire going so it wasnt bad except for early in the morning getting dressed and trying to get the fire stoked back up. I dreaded that hour each morning. Painful.
But yeah, I always manage to trash something when I go up there. I noticed when coming down avery creek that my bottom bracket bearing cup on the drive side had been knocked loose, and Im sure thats all gunked up, so yeah, full overhaul here we come.
Luckily it didnt rain on us.
The trout werent eating either tho.

What was your score? Im a brutal golfer.

Nice! I like riding in that direction (Extension, Dam, Peninsula) better than going the other way. I drove by the parking area on Daniels on my way home from Sunnyview Farms around 3:30 and couldn't believe the numbers of cars there. Parked on both sides of the road as well as the lot up Clinton!!! It must have been mobbed back there! Sorry about the crashes....wanna ride tomorrow at 4:30? ;)

I like riding in that direction as well...although, the Peninsula is really fun the other way (we get to ride down the steep hill onto Dam rather than up it). I have lessons tomorrow night :( Until 5pm otherwise I'd love to!

Hey all, not too exciting weekend. My older brother was supposed to make it down for a trip to Diablo on Saturday but a crisis in VT kept him there. So we scrubbed the Diablo trip. Other than that, mowed the lawn for hopefully the last time this year and finished some painting. We have flooring guys installing some floor today.

So I need some advice. Since my brother scrubbed the Diablo trip, he wants to come down in 2 weeks for the last weekend. Problem is, he'll have to bring his 3 year old daughter since his wife is out of town. We would be gone at least 6 hours to ride. Suzie isn't thrilled about babysitting a 3 year old for 6 hours on her own. WWMD? If we don't do this trip, it's a deferral to next season.

Fun weekend, but we got doorjambed on the weather on Saturday. We were expecting sunny & 70-75 and got cloudy, drizzly, and 55.

Luckily the wives got a Mary's Loop ride in before the nastiest weather set in. The guys attempted an afternoon ride around Highline Lake and were treated to *TWO* broken derailleur hangers in about a mile.

Of course Sunday was 75 and beautiful...

One good note - my wife shuttled the boys and myself to the head of 18-Road and I took them on the Kessel Run. They had a *blast* riding down the wash on their little 12"-ers. :happydance:

Here is my weekend, it was my wife's high school reunion weekend.
Friday 7:00 AM - I was raking in grass seed until I had to go to work.
Came home from work, raked in more grass seed until I had to go freeze my nutz off at a high school football game. Then went to a party and stayed until 3:30 with people who insisted on playing 80's music as they reminisced. I got my hands on some peach moonshine to mute the sounds.
Saturday up at 9:30 and worked in the yard all day until I had to go the reunion. More 80's music, but the water I was drinking did not help this time. People were requesting Bon Jovi and I was sobbing loudly for humanity.
Sunday - Got up at 6:30 and drive over 3 hours to Windrock and rode DH all day. For those not familiar with the place, it is a brutal relentless place to ride a bike. I thought I would just be tired until I got on my bike, but then I would feel better, but I knew during the first run, I was roached. Still rode all day somehow and never felt any better. (I did have a blast though.) Then drove over 3 hours home, and walked in like some kind of zombie and did not move until morning.

Starting with Friday, I sucked at golf. Then on Saturday I chilled with the family and then headed out for a bachelor party. I felt like crap all day yesterday and again today. I did see the Guardian too. Good film as the thread shows.

Try the outer screw for the inner limits. A good way to verify for sure is to take the cable tension off and try both.

I'll play around with it. I need to work on this area of my bike repair skills (or lack thereof) anyway. Hopefully I can get it figured out with some tinkering.
