How is everybody today?

I had a great weekend! Saturday I worked at my friends place cutting rafters and building a cover patio.
Sunday we went hiking with Bruzer to Sams Point Preserve which is at the southern end of The Gunks. Bruzer did so well and we took a ton of pics I just didn't get to DL them from the camera.

How was everybody's weekend?

Hope ya all have a great day!

Out of my mind, back in a moment.
DRB beat you.

Weekend was good. 30 miles of riding in Minnewaska and Vassar. Picked up some climbing gear at the EMS sale, so I'll have something to do in the frozen winter weekends (indoor climbing).

Did a crazy woman in a Jaguar follow you up Sam's point an yap in your ear while doing so?

As posted in DRB's thread, my wife managed to wash my cell phone and wallet over the weekend. Sure glad I bought the insurance!

Did a metric century over the weekend, my first official road bike event. It was good but I think fat tire stuff is still way more fun.

Have a good day

Mornin. Took my dog on his first serious MTB ride yesterday. He's a 10 month old lab/shepard mix and it was about a 2 hour ride on my SS 29er. He did awesome!!! Worked on heeling on the first descent and from then on he was perfect. He even cleared one of the dirt jump gaps at the bottom!!! I am so STOKED to have a riding partner who won't flake out on me. Hope everyone is well.

Have you taken your dog to training?

That was the other thing I forgot to mention we signed our dog up for school.

Holy fawk that ticks are bad right now.

Our office manager just found one crawling up her leg. She walked across the driveway to get the mail and got one.
I found 3 on me last week one had already attached.

Mornin Stosh. Had a busy weekend indeed.

Friday I did a lot of long overdue stuff around the house. Saturday was a quality day with the kids, Sunday is when it got interesting. I decided to bite the bullet and put down some flooring in the basement. I went with Armstrong swiftloc (or somethign like that) laminate hardwood. One thing I really like about it is how little waste there is. I got 1 room done, still have 1 to go. But the room I got done I also got an area rug down, a couch moved in, and the TV brought down. Which means I can now watch Giants/Cowboys tonight while enjoying a real fire. I can't wait.

Today I'm home with a sick kid. I think it's just a teething cold, so it's just a matter of keeping him rested and fed. During his naps I'll be cleaning up all the garbage from the basement work.

I think I'm going to be installing some laminate flooring as well.
How much did it cost per square foot?
Where'd ya get it?

$3/sq foot from lowes (actually, like $2.97/sq foot, but whatever). I also put down a padded vapor barrier... that was $25 for a 100ft roll.

If I had it to do over again... I wouldn't have used the padded vapor barrier, just the regular stuff. The laminate I got had padding already... I decided the extra padding would be good for sound proofing and the irregularities in the concrete. Now that it's done, the floor feels soft, dead... not firm and solid like real hard wood. But whatever... if that's the worst that comes from the fact that I did the install myself, I'll be very happy.

Morning - lots of hockey this past weekend for my sons and me. Good times.

I also went to a wine and beer tasting on Friday night. Berkshire Brewing Company makes many a tasty brew!!!!

Today I go to CCMC at 1 - I think/hope they are going to make me an in-person face to face job offer.

Is it 1 yet?

Mornin Stosh, went to Boston this weekend for a baby christening. Was stuck in bumper to bumper traffic for about 15 miles on the way home and didn't get home until almost 9. Needless to say, I didn't get much accomplished.

My mini-vaca is over, back to the man today.

Morning all....

Friday we had a fundraiser at a local bar that raised almost $1700 for our local trail advocacy group. The IMBA trail care crew of Ryan and Cristen were in town and Saturday I did their little seminar in the morning, and we built a sweet new section of trail in a local park in the afternoon. I was still sore from the wreck Weds. so I had to refrain from any other exertion on Sunday other than playing with Emma, grading papers, and watching some TV!

Yeah I was figuring about $3/sq ft.

Thanks for the heads up. Our dog has done a number on the rug in the one area so I think replacing it with laminate will be worth the $.

He is currently attending classes right now with my g-friend. For the most part he listens to me so I don't really go. He's getting really good other than listening when he's playing with other dogs. I have found 2 ticks on him this year, one like 2 weeks ago from behind my work. I guess ticks in NE this year have been horrible, many attribute it to the warm winter we had last year. I hate the little buggers and enjoy crunching them when I take them off my dog. :brows:

That interlocking stuff is really nice and quick to install. We did the living room of my place in it and it took about 3/4 of a day to get it all done (including going around the fireplace, staircase and dividing counter). The padded vapor barrier helped in my case to insulate a little bit, since the basement is unheated.

No golf, but I do have an RFX demo for the week.

I'm flying out for SoCal Monkeyfest, stosh. You didn't get the invitation?
I'd only go to SoCal Monkeyfest if Shrymp was going to be there. :)

We just had wood laminate installed and think we paid about that much too. We did pay to have it installed though, I don't trust myself enough and didn't want to screw it up.

It does look a hell of a lot better though

My dog has dug the grout out on some tile in our kitchen running and playing. I say get used to having trashed floors with this kind of dog in the house. :banghead:

Morning Monkeys!!
It was a great weekend indeed. It was action packed and now I need a chance to catch my breath
Fiday night we went to see "a Guide to Recognizing your Saints". It was an awesome movie.. really awesome. The problem is it isnt playing everywhere, only a few movie theathers .. like the angelika in Manhattan. If you can find a place its worth the trip
Saturday went to Pennsylvania's version of Sleepy Hollow. we got there early so we were ablwe to get tickets early..good thing because once we returned from dinner the ticket line was huge. we went on the Haunted Hayride that was 40 minutes long.. and filled with super scary stuff, like a huge mack truck driving full speed at us, turning its lights on, blaring the horn and missing our hayride by a foot .. then was the Haunted House.. full of fun and surprises.. and afterwards a bonfire with food and drink.. all in all a great night!!

Sunday Morning I had to wake up for my football game. I threw extremely well throwing 7 td's The team is finally working well together which makes my life so much easier. after the win we went to breakfast and then My wife and I went to the JET Game.. We tailgated a little and wath the jets kick some.. not so good Lion Butt..
another day well spent.. unfortunately I had to rush home and work last night.. but its all good

not bad at all...

good thinking on the training stosh.. its well worth it. Lucy has become a great dog
also do you crate train? I was sooo against it at first but it basically cured our peeing inside on the paper problem.. so sleeps in the crate with the gate open when we arent home.. so she cant hate it sooo much.. only thing I dont advise is leaving them in there for over 6-7 hrs..

We would leave Bruzer in his crate for for 4hrs at a clip. He chewed his way threw the metal bars. So... we dont' have a crate right now. :)
We had a scare this weekend, he ate 1/2 a box of chocolate glazed donuts.

Done.

Only other thing worth mentioning was my round of golf. Shot 77, 40 and 37. Highlight was reaching the par 5 13th in 2. 305 yard drive combined with a 250 yard 3 wood. Made for an easy birdie.
