Mornin Stosh.
Not much excitement this weekend. Firday night I spent a few hours down at the pool hall, then went to hooters for a burger and a couple of beers. Saturday I did nothing. Sunday we took our daughter to the circus. She liked all the acts that had animals in them... couldn't have cared less about the rest though. Those carney folk scare me... they smell funny.
I did order this last night though... my current helmet is pretty much beat.
I was a little leary of buying a helmet without trying it on first, but none of the cheap ones at my LBS fit well and I'm not paying $100 for a helmet. Hopefully it will fit pretty well.Originally posted by stosh
I just bought that helmet too. It's not bad...

Just came back to town last night after a week in Calgary. Got at least an hour or so on the bike, but the weather did not really co-operate. 3" of snow on the ground in and around Calgary when we left.
I think the weather is supposed to be crappy all week up here, so our rides will be in the wet, but at least we'll ride.
But a week away from work, I have no complaints!! Exept that I have to go to work today!
After a couple really long rides or several days of shorter rides I definitely use work to recover. Unfortunatly I haven't been on my bike in 3 weeks, so I haven't done it lately.Originally posted by LordOpie
does anyone else use work for recovery?
isn't taht what it is there for ?Originally posted by LordOpie
does anyone else use work for recovery? I rode 10-12 hours this weekend and am tired.

It was pretty funny...we were out on the trail and came upon this group that didn't really seem to know where to go (they have logged some of our trails and unless you REALLY know them, you might get lost) We introduced ourselves and this one guys says...do you live on Wells Estate Court in Porter Corners? We were a little weirded out and said yes. That's when he laughs and says I deliver you all of your bike goodies! So, we showed them around a little, told them all about our bike club (SMBA) and had a nice ride...plus, we got in good w/the UPS man so we're sure to get our stuff on timeOriginally posted by stosh
Ha, thats funny!
My landlords think I'm having drugs shipped to me.

sooner or later we'll hook up again for single-track, but I'm focused on road until the Triple. Which trail did you hit?Originally posted by pixelninja
Busy, busy weekend. Started out Sat morning with a good 2-1/2 hour ride on a great local trail.

We hit Apex, which I haven't been on this year. I still can't clean that big slab right before the turnoff for the Pick n Sledge climb. I'll get it one of these days.Originally posted by LordOpie

your wife gave birth 7 months ago and ran in a half-marathon yesterday? She's a total bad-ass! Granted, I can't run more than 10 miles, so I think anyone doing a half marathon gets props.
I do. Its a great way to break up the day.Originally posted by reflux
Question, how many of you take a long lunch to go workout? I've been toying with the idea of coming to work earlier and hitting the gym to do some weights on my lunch but I'm not really sure. I'd love any input y'all have.
july 10... wanna join me? :devil:Originally posted by pixelninja
