How was everybody's weekend?

I was in Manchester NH for a graduation.
I did however make it over to a famous Louis Kahn building in Exeter. I'll post some pics below.

How is everybody today?

Not much excitement this weekend. Firday night I spent a few hours down at the pool hall, then went to hooters for a burger and a couple of beers. Saturday I did nothing. Sunday we took our daughter to the circus. She liked all the acts that had animals in them... couldn't have cared less about the rest though. Those carney folk scare me... they smell funny.

I did order this last night though... my current helmet is pretty much beat.

I was a little leary of buying a helmet without trying it on first, but none of the cheap ones at my LBS fit well and I'm not paying $100 for a helmet. Hopefully it will fit pretty well.

Just came back to town last night after a week in Calgary. Got at least an hour or so on the bike, but the weather did not really co-operate. 3" of snow on the ground in and around Calgary when we left.

I think the weather is supposed to be crappy all week up here, so our rides will be in the wet, but at least we'll ride.

But a week away from work, I have no complaints!! Exept that I have to go to work today!

G'mornin!

Well...it was a decent weekend :).

Friday night I went and burned some stress off at the local climbing gym. Way fun! Learned to climb a horizontal roof, which totally kicked my butt! My arms and tummy and back muscles hurt SO bad Saturday morning. Have to go back again soon ;).

Saturday got up early and got a good ride in. Bumped into some old friends which was pretty cool. Spent the afternoon with Mom mapping neighborhoods for her new advertisement campaign...
Doing everything I can to get her name out there as a realtor! I really want her to be successful.

Saturday night I went to BBQ with a girlfriend who I haven't seen in a few months (she's been studying to be a firefighter in the evenings after work). What was weirder was we got to her friend's place where the BBQ was being held. I didn't know her friend, but she opened the door and knew me right away! Turns out she started going by her first name, and not her middle name, and we had been in Elementary school together. Ages ago we were great friends! It was way cool, but a little surreal. She's got three kids a husband and a huge house now...

Sunday, I woke up smoke filled and a little hungover, so I eschewed a morning ride in favor of a long hot shower and a stiff cup of coffee. Went and bought mom a fuschia and a card, and we all went to the Horse Races for the day. It was fun, but I'm a poor gambler. Fortunately for 8 hours of entertainment, I spent 20 bucks total! ;)

After a couple really long rides or several days of shorter rides I definitely use work to recover. Unfortunatly I haven't been on my bike in 3 weeks, so I haven't done it lately.

Nam I am
Morning stosh

had a good weekend , Saturday I did a 4 + hr Mt bike ride , 4 girls , 3 guys and we rode pretty hard. Was so tired when I got home , fell a sleep in front of the computer.

Sunday Morning My daughter competed in her first horse Show. Sh did OK , but her horse was being a little cranky. then Same daugher had her final performance in Charlottes Web which is the first play she has ever been in. it is part of a Small theater troop up here. She did Great.

Then I picked up some cocktail Shrimp , a Salmon Steak and a Swordfish Steak and mad My wife a lovely meal for mothers day.

And I commuted in today Via Bike , 16 miles 53:30 was feeling good , but an old lady in a Escort wagon almost punched my ticket along the way , she looked right at me , I was less than 20 feet from her doing about 17 MPH and she just pulls out in front of me to make a left turn. Locked up my Brakes and just barely missed her.

Morning :stosh:

Well, the weather man said T-storms & rain today, but it's sunny out now, so keep your fingers crossed 'cause I plan on riding tonight!

Weekend was pretty good. Got some riding in, BBQ w/the family for Mother's Day, some much needed bike maintenance (my front wheel on the Jekyll was REALLY wobbly and in dire need of being trued), did some yard work on Saturday afternoon and went to see Van Helsing on Saturday night. Not a bad weekend overall!

Mornin, all

Busy, busy weekend. Started out Sat morning with a good 2-1/2 hour ride on a great local trail. Way too many hikers slowing us down, but that's ok.

After that, my wife and I packed up the car and headed up north to Ft Collins where my wife was running in a 1/2 marathon on Sun. The race started at 7 am, so we opted to get a hotel room for Sat night, instead of having to get up insanely early to drive up there. Not sure if that was the right thing to do. Our 7 month old daughter didn't sleep well in the hotel room, so both of us were up every hour getting her back to sleep. I don't think either of us got more than 4 hours of sleep. On Sun morning my wife headed off to the race, and I drove down to Loveland to pick up my mom and bring her back up to watch Steph run. It took Steph longer than she was hoping, but she finished. It was her first big run, so she was pretty proud of herself. As am I. We then headed back down to Loveland and hung out with my parents, granda, and aunt and uncle. Finally got back home around 6. Gave the little girl a bath and both she and my wife crashed.

It was pretty funny...we were out on the trail and came upon this group that didn't really seem to know where to go (they have logged some of our trails and unless you REALLY know them, you might get lost) We introduced ourselves and this one guys says...do you live on Wells Estate Court in Porter Corners? We were a little weirded out and said yes. That's when he laughs and says I deliver you all of your bike goodies! :) So, we showed them around a little, told them all about our bike club (SMBA) and had a nice ride...plus, we got in good w/the UPS man so we're sure to get our stuff on time :thumb:

sooner or later we'll hook up again for single-track, but I'm focused on road until the Triple. Which trail did you hit?

your wife gave birth 7 months ago and ran in a half-marathon yesterday? She's a total bad-ass! Granted, I can't run more than 10 miles, so I think anyone doing a half marathon gets props.

We hit Apex, which I haven't been on this year. I still can't clean that big slab right before the turnoff for the Pick n Sledge climb. I'll get it one of these days.

And yes, my wife is a bad-ass :D

When is the Triple?

Good Morning!! I love Mondays, it just means I'm that much closer to next weekend.

Let's see, I drank, slept, studied, rode, and ate. My plan for this week is to work, sleep, eat, and study . God, don't you love a routine?

Question, how many of you take a long lunch to go workout? I've been toying with the idea of coming to work earlier and hitting the gym to do some weights on my lunch but I'm not really sure. I'd love any input y'all have.

Edit: syntax
