HOw was your weekend?

I had a pretty good weekend. Friday night I spent the night helping my friend clear his property to build a house. I did the same thing Saturday till 1pm, I could have worked till 10pm that night it was so nice out and it was so nice to have a good hard day of work.

Sunday my GF's b-day started off with me cooking breakfast and then my GF goes "hey do you want to go ride?" she didn't have to ask me twice!! We had an awesome ride too! It's nice seeing my GF passing guys on the trails and doing drops that guys were walking around. Then we went for dinner to our favorite Japansese place and were unimpressed.

hmm...went to the beach sat w/ the boys but irish weather (very windy, heavy clouds) made that a short visit. of course, on the drive home the sun came out. went out to an indian restaurant w/ a bunch of people from work and their wives, good times.

Sunday was race day. the wife did her first race on the 222, and came in 2nd. woo hoo! oh yeah, there was only one other woman racing. but in hil's defence, the woman's been riding for a while (rode the WC race in calgary a month ago), and the track got pretty nasty. huge gusts of wind and driving rain made the dry track in practice turn into a slick mudfield for the race, and it was a single run format.

i had a good time w/ my race run, hit one tree but didn't come off the bike, and was generally happy w/ my run. got 4th of 6, but there are 2 guys in my class which i know i'll never beat.

a couple of nasty injuries on the course, thankfully we weren't among them (although i need to ditch the roach pads and get something better for my wife, she banged her knee pretty good on the 1st practice run, in the steep section towards the end).

it was good to see the guys i went to morzine w/ , and the other racers i've met over the past year. probably won't see 'em again.

Good ride on Sat with Gee Spot and Tweek, then Sunday had another good ride with a big group. First time I've been home for a weekend in like forever, it was wierd.

Weather down south was beautiful this weekend. We have bit of dry air sitting on top of us which results in some cool mornings and mild days. This is good for me because I'm building my house at this stage. Although I've been building houses since 1998, this is the first one I've built for myself.

I had the slab poured 2 weeks ago Sat and since then the framing crew has been working their asses off on it. I have the house in the 'dry' with a roof on. The framing crew is putting in the windows, finishing the soffit/facia, finishing up some interior items (like moving some of the bedroom door & closet headers up from 6'8" to 8' so I can put in tall doors.

Sat I spent a couple hours going over the plans with the electricians to make sure I was getting outlets every place I needed one. They stated roughing in the wiring Fri and by Sun afternoon its 90% wired. Spent Sunday cleaning up and burning trash at the site.

I've got a subcontractor who is going to rough in my home audio/structered wiring system this week. I'm going to have a 50-inch plasma mounted on the wall above the fireplace mantle. It's quite a trick to get all the wiring for the TV in the wall behind where the plasma is going to hang. I am going to have in-the-wall mounted home theater speakers which will have painted grills to match the walls.

All told this house ought to be be ready to move in by the last week in Sept or the first week in Oct.

Smith Sequels ROCK!!! I have a pair and Mtnbkngrl has a pair too. I've had mine for over a year and :love: them!!! They come in a few colors (frames) and come with interchangeable lens too (yellow, amber and mirrored gray). I think they're about $100. I got mine at my LBS.

Yeah I got my smith mainline sliders from my LBS for about $100 too. My GF needs a real small pair. We've yet to get our hands on some to try on. Smith's are hard to find.

my weekend started crappy but turned out kinda ok. on fri night my stepdad came home ****faced like allways and started yellin and **** and kiked me my friend and my mom out of the house. so i spent the night at his place. then saturday went riding for a bit then watched the x games at my friend heathers house. me and my buddy taylor stopped for some slurpees on the way to his house and some cops stopped us and wanted to ride my bighit. i was like uhhhh ok. that was pretty cool. so i spentthe night there again. then yesterday went to my girlfriends house and stayed there till bout midnight. and i didnt sleep so ive been up all night for no reason. thats my weekend

My weekend was pretty good, started out with a good night of happy hour drinking at a Mexican restraunt by my place mmmmmmmmm dos equis, but anyway, we went from bar to bar and proceeded to drink until we didn’t know what was going on

. Then my good friend (girl) and I get into a discussion about the speed at which we could swap underwear, so i said "lets go do it" so there we are but naked in a tennis court in a park by my house at 1 am

. What a good time, last time i am putting on a thong though

Then Saturday came, i grabbed on of my bros to help me move some stuff back up to my house at school. So after waking up with a huge hangover and driving 2 hours to my school we arrive. Only to find 2 people living in my room (roommate told em it was ok)! FVCK that i had to throw them out which was kind of funny.

Sunday sucked, ride plans fell through...but I got allot of stuff done, including drilling out my rusted cleats on my shoes neaky:

the beach was cool, because sand and water = instant fun when you are under 8 years old, regardless of temperature. plus, we saw a big jellyfish, size of a frisbee.

i took a snap or two of the race which i'll post up at somepoint. hil's a good rider, just needs more saddle time (the rigors of being mommy to two young kids has obviously cut into her free time) to get back to where she was.

I had a good weekend. On Saturday, I started digging holes in my front yard for a picket fence to come. I've got the blisters to prove it. Rented a strange little movie called Pretty Dirty Things that night. Kind of a thriller, but not much suspense. Good acting, but not sure if I'd recommend it.

On Suday, I had a great ride. Pictures and writeup are here. Went home afterwards and spent the rest of the day playing with my daughter.

Saturday I played in a fund raising golf tournament. Played like crap, but had a good time. Saturday night I got my truck ready for Paragon. I spent all day Sunday on the trails. The trails were a bit more mild than I was hoping for, but still had a good time.

Wow man that riding looks like fun! It's hard for me to get a tan riding because the woods are so thick around here but riding there I would probably need sun screen.

Morning All!!!
Sadly this was the last weekend of my summer vacation as I go back to school on the 12th. Damn school board committee. Well got completely told off by the girl I really late last week so I figured it was incentive for me to make some ghetto northshore stunts in my yard. Ended up getting a good 3-4ft drop out of a bunch of fence pickets nailed together stacked onto a few old computers I had laying around. Fun stuff. Anyways that was Friday, then Saturday I went on the funnest, hardest shuttle run I've ever been on. Started out with some north shore stunts near the top with a 15 ft drop down a bit, after that it was all extremely technical fast rock sections. All in all the trail is about 12 miles long, it takes 40minutes to drive to the top alone. Pics of the top northshore stunts can be seen here. http://forums.mtbr.com/showthread.php?t=40709
Then Sunday I went and saw The Village, chilled and got some Baskin Robbins in the afternoon, then just hungout with some friends. It was a pretty good weekend but things didnt work out the best for some things.
