Had a pretty good weekend. House stuff Friday night and Saturday morning, rode Sat afternoon. Spent all day Sunday with the boat up at Cayuga. Monday did house stuff most of the day, then squeezed in a ride before it got dark.

Hello!

Had a GREAT weekend riding with Jozz, Karine, Douglas, MMcG, Splat, Tonyhawk and MBC. Almost missed yesterday's ride because our cats (indoor cats) knocked out a screen and escaped Saturday night. MBC and I spent most of Saturday night looking for them, but we found them (thank god!). We were :dead: tired Sunday.

I can't wait for Jozz to post the pics from Saturday's rides. I hit a pretty big drop (7 feet??) and crash landed. Jozz got a pic as I launched.

I guess these are the things you find out in a new house.

Yeah, the screens in the living room bay window are not nailed in or anything. They are just wedged into the window frame. They can be popped out with a light punch. Needless to say, we'll be fixing that problem.

My weekend was awesome.

Saturday: went to Brewers Fest. at Mt. Snow. Lots of fun. I was told it was the worst Brew Fest in years but I still had a good time. Went to a bar for a while afterwards and shot some pool - someone I was with knew the manager of the bar so he floated us the $15/hour pool table for free. Nicest pool table I'll probably ever play on in my life.

Went for a quick ride and did some laundry Sunday morning, then kept on my pool and beer kick. Newcastle was on special at a local bar again..

Monday, guess what? Pool and beer :D - hung out with some new people, had some fun.

So, my girlfriend likes pool and beer, and her response to my ride Sunday morning? "Why don't I stop by at noon instead of 10:00, give you a couple more hours to ride..."  I found a keeper :D

Hope everyone else had as great a weekend... Anyone go anywhere for the holiday?

I got a pretty good deal ($9,000.00 off sticker)
Can't follow that link - say's I'm not autorized. But $9k off the sticker sounds like a heck of a deal. Also sounds like you went domestic - seems very hard to get any kind of a deal on foreign trucks these days. Another Jeep perhaps? Or perhaps a Chevy Colorado (is the URL a hint?).

Had an awesome weekend. Rode with the Jackalopes at Diablo. Hit some jumps, rode some seriously rock tech stuff, rolled some steeps... Did some ladder bridges that scared the daylights out of me, and LIVED! :D

Yesterday I called off work in order to tour the Cats by motorcycle. Needless to say, today I am le tired.

Wow... that's a heck of a deal. I wouldn't have thought they were marked up enough to get that kind of a deal. You must have gotten it about at dealer invoice.

Congrats! I've heard they are ncie rigs.

I am really liking it so far, it has an inline 5 that has more power but gets better gas mileage then any similar sized truck

I really kind of lucked out..
1st being I did a quote on chevrolet.com they have to a give a price just above invoice

2nd there is normally a $1000 gm card rebate limit on the colorados but being I have one of the original gm cards, my original contract w/GM has NO limits

and 3rd, last week I just happened to get in the mail a $500 bonus gm card rebate

:D

Decent w/e, if nothing exciting...

Fri. night: went to a slot car shop (Nostalgia Hobbies) in North Jersey.

Sat: Looked at a '71 Volvo P1800 ES wagon my g/f is looking to buy. Then a road ride afterwards.

Sun: Went for our yearly clothes shopping adventure and spent too much money... :dead:

Mon: Basement cleaning & reorganization (prep for a slot-car track! :sneaky: )

Good Morning. I had a good w/e.
I went riding Saturday morning. We took a few pics, and a couple of short movies. It was a fun ride. Sunday morning I went riding at a different trail. One that doesn't like me much. Plus I was riding with a group that races in the local series. Needless to say I was coming down a rocky hill, and I must have given it a little too much front brake, because I quickly flew over the bars. I hit my head on one of the rocks (that still hurts btw), I knocked the breath out of me, and when trying to catch myself I either bruised, or broke a bone in my palm, because it's swollen, and black, and hurts to grip. We were only one mile in, but I wasn't going to give in. I had a quicker time coming back, mainly because I couln't feel my hand anymore. lol. Monday I polished up the bike, and did house things. Watched some of the US Open. That's about it.

Oh, one other thing worth noting... late this past winter I decided to try to get into better shape. I joined a gym until the good weather came when I could be outside. I made some good progress early on, then all this house/move crap happened and things got all screwed up. I got on the scales yesterday for the first time in about 6 weeks. I started at 188lbs, got down to 180lbs before the move. I'm now 174... exactly half way to my goal. I thought for sure I was putting weight back on since the move, but apparently not.

I bagged out. While the Whistler trip was tons of fun, I don't need to spend another w/e with those guys right now. As far as I'm concerned, I am done with mountain bikes for the year and have turned back into a roadie. ;)

The Yeti is still disassembled from Whistler return flight.

what are you mad at your friends or something?

You're funny, when I first met you I thought you were a hardcore DH'r then you switched to riding more XC and now you're a roadie!!!

Morning :stosh:

Don't know what's happening today, had a good weekend despite smacking my damn shoulder again on that same tree, don't know how much more hits the shoulder can take. Both were had pretty good contact. This time I kept rolling, and no pics, camera is in Colorado right now(Letting my sister borrow it.)

No, not mad at them - well one of them pissed off many of us during the whole trip and especially on the return flight - I mainly just need time away.

I was a roadie long before I ever owned a mtn bike. I went from BMX to road, then to mtn bikes. DH was simply an evolution of that. It's all cycling to me and I am happy riding any of them. Even when I was heavily into DH racing, I spent much more time on my road bike. :D

I hear ya there - I have one friend who buys really nice road bikes and never rides them... granted, no matter how much I tell her, she refuses to spend the $40 to go to the shop and have the bike properly fit to her. Nothing - and I repeat NOTHING - is more important on a road bike than fit. A $400 bike is better than a $4000 bike if the $400 bike fits you better.

HEY! I only own ONE road bike, and no, I don't feel like having it set up for $40. They will just tell me to buy more stuff that I can't afford! :P

Good Morning Stosh! :D

Saturday, went riding along a section of a bike path that leads into downtown San Diego...and got this picture.

Sunday went XC riding and took some pictures of the DH guys as they were coming down the hill.

Yesterday went to Balboa Park and spent some time at the museums. It was a good weekend!

Have a good day! :)
