Nice! I can't wait to see them either!I Are Baboon said:Hello!
Had a GREAT weekend riding with Jozz, Karine, Douglas, MMcG, Splat, Tonyhawk and MBC. Almost missed yesterday's ride because our cats (indoor cats) knocked out a screen and escaped Saturday night. MBC and I spent most of Saturday night looking for them, but we found them (thank god!). We were tired Sunday.
I can't wait for Jozz to post the pics from Saturday's rides. I hit a pretty big drop (7 feet??) and crash landed. Jozz got a pic as I launched.
Yeah, the screens in the living room bay window are not nailed in or anything. They are just wedged into the window frame. They can be popped out with a light punch. Needless to say, we'll be fixing that problem.stosh said:Nice! I can't wait to see them either!
I guess these are the things you find out in a new house.
Can't follow that link - say's I'm not autorized. But $9k off the sticker sounds like a heck of a deal. Also sounds like you went domestic - seems very hard to get any kind of a deal on foreign trucks these days. Another Jeep perhaps? Or perhaps a Chevy Colorado (is the URL a hint?).douglas said:Not mine, but looks just like:
I got a pretty good deal ($9,000.00 off sticker)

Wow... that's a heck of a deal. I wouldn't have thought they were marked up enough to get that kind of a deal. You must have gotten it about at dealer invoice.douglas said:$3500 rebate
$2000 dealer incentive
$3010 gm card rebate
$500 gm card bonus rebate
the salesmen said I had the biggest gm card rebate he ever saw

I am really liking it so far, it has an inline 5 that has more power but gets better gas mileage then any similar sized truck
I really kind of lucked out..
1st being I did a quote on chevrolet.com they have to a give a price just above invoice
2nd there is normally a $1000 gm card rebate limit on the colorados but being I have one of the original gm cards, my original contract w/GM has NO limits
and 3rd, last week I just happened to get in the mail a $500 bonus gm card rebate
I thought you were going to be in Jim Thorpe this weekend?Ian F said:Decent w/e, if nothing exciting...
Fri. night: went to a slot car shop (Nostalgia Hobbies) in North Jersey.
Sat: Looked at a '71 Volvo P1800 ES wagon my g/f is looking to buy. Then a road ride afterwards.
Sun: Went for our yearly clothes shopping adventure and spent too much money...
Mon: Basement cleaning & reorganization (prep for a slot-car track! neaky: )
yeah all thoes nights of take out food when you didn't have a kitchen right?jacksonpt said:Oh, one other thing worth noting... late this past winter I decided to try to get into better shape. I joined a gym until the good weather came when I could be outside. I made some good progress early on, then all this house/move crap happened and things got all screwed up. I got on the scales yesterday for the first time in about 6 weeks. I started at 188lbs, got down to 180lbs before the move. I'm now 174... exactly half way to my goal. I thought for sure I was putting weight back on since the move, but apparently not.
I bagged out. While the Whistler trip was tons of fun, I don't need to spend another w/e with those guys right now. As far as I'm concerned, I am done with mountain bikes for the year and have turned back into a roadie.stosh said:I thought you were going to be in Jim Thorpe this weekend?
what are you mad at your friends or something?Ian F said:I bagged out. While the Whistler trip was tons of fun, I don't need to spend another w/e with those guys right now. As far as I'm concerned, I am done with mountain bikes for the year and have turned back into a roadie.
The Yeti is still disassembled from Whistler return flight.
Man that sucks about hitting your head! Do you need a new helmet?JSB said:Good Morning. I had a good w/e.
I went riding Saturday morning. We took a few pics, and a couple of short movies. It was a fun ride. Sunday morning I went riding at a different trail. One that doesn't like me much. Plus I was riding with a group that races in the local series. Needless to say I was coming down a rocky hill, and I must have given it a little too much front brake, because I quickly flew over the bars. I hit my head on one of the rocks (that still hurts btw), I knocked the breath out of me, and when trying to catch myself I either bruised, or broke a bone in my palm, because it's swollen, and black, and hurts to grip. We were only one mile in, but I wasn't going to give in. I had a quicker time coming back, mainly because I couln't feel my hand anymore. lol. Monday I polished up the bike, and did house things. Watched some of the US Open. That's about it.

Don't know what's happening today, had a good weekend despite smacking my damn shoulder again on that same tree, don't know how much more hits the shoulder can take. Both were had pretty good contact. This time I kept rolling, and no pics, camera is in Colorado right now(Letting my sister borrow it.)
Exactly!stosh said:yeah all thoes nights of take out food when you didn't have a kitchen right?
No, not mad at them - well one of them pissed off many of us during the whole trip and especially on the return flight - I mainly just need time away.stosh said:what are you mad at your friends or something?
You're funny, when I first met you I thought you were a hardcore DH'r then you switched to riding more XC and now you're a roadie!!!
oh I hear ya man! It's just funny some people strictly ride one or the other...Ian F said:No, not mad at them - well one of them pissed off many of us during the whole trip and especially on the return flight - I mainly just need time away.
I was a roadie long before I ever owned a mtn bike. I went from BMX to road, then to mtn bikes. DH was simply an evolution of that. It's all cycling to me and I am happy riding any of them. Even when I was heavily into DH racing, I spent much more time on my road bike.
I hear ya there - I have one friend who buys really nice road bikes and never rides them... granted, no matter how much I tell her, she refuses to spend the $40 to go to the shop and have the bike properly fit to her. Nothing - and I repeat NOTHING - is more important on a road bike than fit. A $400 bike is better than a $4000 bike if the $400 bike fits you better.stosh said:oh I hear ya man!
