Ok im looking at buying a pressure suit.
First off here are the basics...6'0, 160, im not a big guy, I have a VP free and it’s my everything bike (drops jumps DH and the dreaded XC)
I'm in So'cal so its always hot, needs some ventilation and preferably not to heavy. Integrated elbow pads would be nice but not a must, removable would be the best. Has to have articulate spinal protection.

Helmet...pretty basic. Must be a moto dot and snell approved lighter and more ventilation the better but im easily swayed by price

I can budget 400-500max for both

(If anyone in the socal area needs something welded I MiG and TiG)

As in pressure suit do you mean the actual model, or just body armour in general?

In my biased opinion, the best ventilated body armour is the dainese safety jacket/ shuttle suit, bar none. The jacket can be had for about $250 if you look hard enough. Articulated back, elbow, shoulder and chest hardshell. Also includes built in kidney belt to keep everything snug etc.

My 661 Pressure suit is ok. It would be nice if the zipper were in the middle where it makes sense. The elbow guards ride up and protect the sides of the bows and not where you are going to hit them in a crash. If I did it over again I would but a FlakJacket by RockGarden. I think they speel their name weird but whatever. I have a Troy Lee D2 hot rod and I love it. Super light looks bad ass and I am pretty sure my old one saved my life. It is not a moto helmet but it is very nice. I wouldn't trade it for anything. Troy Lee did just come out wiht a moto helmet so you may want to check that out.

I had two of the older style Rockgardn Flak Jackets over the past three years and I just got the new redesigned '05 version. I think it is damn near Dainese quality for at least $100 less.

The Fox Pro Pilot helmet is fairly light, a decent price and DOT approved.

I like my 661 suit. Its kinda hot, but I say being a tad uncomfortable is worth not hurting yourself. I also just got a Fox Flight DOT and SNELL approved helmet. It fits nicely, its comfy, and its got that rubber coating, not the high gloss paint stuff. I dont like a lot of flash and trash on my helmets, its there to do a job, not have a $400 paint job.
