In a healthy tension
you want a single speed specific ring as the regular rings from cassettes have shifting ramps on them which will cause your chain to remove itself in the right (wrong) situations i.e. torque, flexy frame, you climbing the steepest hill only to find yourself looking at...yourself and wondering how you got flipped over the bars and in lots of pain. Spot, Phil, any botique single speed brand rear ring will work. The Shadow chain is uneccessarily heavy in my opinion and good bmx chains work fine and are much lighter.

or any other 1/8 chain for half the price, and a half-link.

:stupid:

cheaper, and you can get the same tension with one half link instead of an entire chain made of them.

Right on, I run Ol' KMC chains get for about $8 @ and swap them out every six months of service, no problems.....
