Morning. Did my first night right in my history of biking last night. Borrowed a friend's light (and HID) and it was awesome! Saw lots of fun critters and enjoyed the moon and the owls. Now I'm trying to decide if I want to dish out the cash for a light. I'd been looking at a Turbocat halogen that my LBS recommends, but not sure how it will look compared to that Nightrider HID.
Once You've used an HID , Halogen just doesn't cut it !!

I'm going for a night ride tonight! WOOHOO:banana:

The EMD is en route to Wisconsin and the money from the sale of it and the Reba and a few other things is going to the Eastern Connecticut Hockey Organization so Liam and Connor can continue to kick ass out on the ice.
I have heard of worse things people have sold posessions to pay for! you are a good man, and a better father!

I have just chosen to keep all my posessions and not take a shower (which would be awfully cold) until payday (Friday) at which point I can afford a new water heater!

ah, bummer dude. Sorry to hear it. Any light at the end of the tunnel?
If I land this job I'm interviewing for there will be a ray or two at the end of the tunnel - yep. But I've got a long road to haul and hopefully several more interviews to go before an offer would even get extended so I gotta keep having faith and saying my prayers.

I've been helping a friend demo the inside of his new house to do some re-modeling.
Yesterday the contractor put his first windows in and didn't put headers on top of them. YIKES!

Anyway it's almost Friday thank god!

Hope ya all have a great day!
He was framing in for a new window, or existing?

Good Morning!

Lots of stuff going on at work today.....we've got a ton of jobs that need to be delivered, so I've got trucks going out left and right......and on top of that, there's a group in from Georgia that's looking to possibly puchase the company I'm working for, so they're walking around, observing everything. I'm rocking a super-stealth-ninja-post right now in between rounds of questions and chitty-chat.

Other than the busy day, not much personally to report. We were able to feel some kicks from the baby last night after dinner. It seems like that's his most active time(takes after me, I guess) lately, so I was stoked to be able to feel him squirming around a little.

Took some time to clean out my truck yesterday. 5 stinky guys doing shuttle runs in it this past weekend can really put a hurtin' on the olfactory senses. Woah.....that stinky-glove smell just doesn't want to leave......

It will look dark compared to the HID. I've got a halogen on my bars and HID on my helmet, when you shine them in the same place you can't even tell the halogen is on. You can ride w/ just the halogen (I did all last winter), but the difference is huge.

Dude, you're kids are lucky - that's an awesome sacrifice to make for them. I hope they appreciate it, if they don't now they will some day.

Hope the job hunt works out for you!

your new halogen will look like a pen light with an almost dead battery

I don't really see that type of framing out here, but I believe that's the norm for windows.
Older windows had more structural capabilites then they do now. Not to say that you could support a wall with them but if pressure was added to them they are less likely to bind the window up. These days windows are made cheaply with glued corners that aren't meant to take any force and if they are twisted slightly the window will jam up.

Good morning,

Had a great ride last night. Saw a 5 foot rattler which was way cool. Did extended miles and stayed out long enough that ran out of battery for the light. The last mile was like a moonlight drive. Didn't get home until 12:30.

Making up for it today- a fatality closed the freeway, had to find an alternate commute. Walked into work, had network issues and 9000 phone calls at the helpdesk- "No, it's not just your computer". Still haven't had any coffee. Do I sound grumpy?

Oh yeah? Explain

Any better alternatives that won't cost me my first born?
Yup My first One 3rd time using it , it just shut off . would turn back on for about a minute then off . let it sit for 20 minutes , would be fine for an Hour then do the same thing. sent it back.

My 2nd ( and Present one ) , the wire broke in the battery pack, leaving me in the dark on the trail again. I fixed my self. had wires break near the connetor at 24OA in dalton , nite rider wasthere and fixed it for me , at Monkey fest this year going up pinkham road wires in the connector on the light side broke leaving me in the dark yet again.

also Quo_fan , had wire in his battery pack break on the trail , and we had to do a trail side repair.

If I had to do it over again I'd go with the trail tech at $185 !
