Nice!!! I'm in. Are you racing? If one wanted to sign up (like the self punishing person I am), how would one do so? Any change in the weather expectation for KT this weekend?robdamanii said:Yo DW, you said you'll be around the weekend of the 7th? I just got an e-mail from the guy whos running the race the 9th, and the race course is marked and we'll be able to pre-ride.
Dude - I don't like work. Finding you a job smells alot like work. It's not like Denver is some sort of backwoods cow town.dogwonder said:If you weren't slacking on hooking a brother up with some employers, I could be out there!
Will you at least have beer or are you going to have a flowery picnic basket full of wine hippy?SkaredShtles said:The stunt double will do the climbing. I will stand in to do the gloating at the top when you're puking your guts out.

Thanks for the props, though.
OK, so maybe, tentatively, possibly but still somehow unlikely an impromptu Ridemonkey DH meeting will occur on 7/1 @ 12 noon at Jiminy Peak. Meet at the bike shop to sign your lovely waivers.I Are Baboon said:Details?

You're totally right... we always get blizzards and junk in August, and it rains almost non-stop in June and July, there's no good riding, you should probably just not come anywhere near Colorado... ever...SteveW said:Yes, the rain/hail of biblical proportions CO got over the weekend is something to be envied.

It's times like this that I kick myself repeatedly for not becoming a teacherTreeSaw said:Good afternoon. Today begins my summer vacation...no more school until September :dancing: Actually, we had a brief breakfast meeting yesterday and that ended the school year. So far today, I have played with the baby and cleaned my kitchen. Probably going to squeeze in a ride today if the rain holds off.
Congrats on enduring yet another school year!TreeSaw said:Good afternoon. What do you mean you don't have steak on a bike ride? That's like saying you don't bring cheesecake with you!SkaredShtles said:I'll have beer. I don't generally bring steak on a bike ride.
Why you little...:mumble:SkaredShtles said:Yeah. That's just what my kids need.
Forget it. You'd be much happier staying in NY.
Sweet...I remember the weather report from Vermont always seemed to be a mix of sun and clouds with a chance of rain. That's going out on a limb!robdamanii said:If you wanted to register, you'd go here:

We're looking at 20% chance of showers on friday and saturday, sunny and nice on sunday, and 40% chance of thundershowers on Monday.
We'll probably try to pre-ride on Saturday the 8th, but we'll know more as we approach.
I hope so! It sounds like there are lots of storms that hit the mountainsdogwonder said:Sweet...I remember the weather report from Vermont always seemed to be a mix of sun and clouds with a chance of rain. That's going out on a limb!

kingdomtrails.org said:TRAIL CONDITIONS
THE TRAILS ARE CLOSED. After a great weekend the weather gods pulled a 180 on us and brought rain to start the week. We have received quite a bit of rain the past 12 hours and things are saturated. Please respect any trail closures. Thanks!
I emailed them and they hope to get things back on track soon. You said it drains well?dogwonder said:Uh oh...
According to what they e-mailed me, they have no idea when they will open, but they will open "absolutely as soon as possible". If I get stuck up there and don't even get to ride 10 feet, I will be pissed beyond understanding.dogwonder said:Uh oh...
Damn that sucks but doesn't surprise me though, don't want to throw in the towel until the last possible moment.robdamanii said:According to what they e-mailed me, they have no idea when they will open, but they will open "absolutely as soon as possible". Yeah, we've got a list of things to drive to and do. You know, if we have to hang out at Magic Hat for 4 or 5 hours...you know...it works. I damned well want to ride that place though.dogwonder said:Damn that sucks but doesn't surprise me though, don't want to throw in the towel until the last possible moment.
But the weather forecast ain't looking great either.

I'm hoping for ya...there isn't much else to do if it is a washout
Yeah, we figure we'll forgo all the basket weaving shops and maple sugar shacks and fill the trunk at Longtrail, Harpoon and Magic Hat, come back to the B&B and sit in the hot tub with a case of VT's finest.robdamanii said:Yeah, we've got a list of things to drive to and do. Harpoon is pretty far...Boston ain't that close...May I suggest Otter Creek or Vermont Pub & Brewery?bluebug32 said:Yeah, we figure we'll forgo all the basket weaving shops and maple sugar shacks and fill the trunk at Longtrail, Harpoon and Magic Hat, come back to the B&B and sit in the hot tub with a case of VT's finest.
