My legs actually hurt the first few days from lack of excercise. I was grumpy as hell but that was due to stress as much as anything. To be honest I never really thought about riding. If I sat there thinking about riding, my dogs, home etc I would have become really depressed.
did you kennel yr dogs for the month?

check out any bands in chicago? Decent brewpubs? good restaurants? at least the zoo or art institute?

I went for a ride last night, first one since our fiasco at Whistler 10 days prior. Wasn't raining at the trailhead, but was pouring by the time I reached the top of the climb.... and I loved every f'n minute of it. Got a little dark on the way down, but I survived and can't wait to go again tomorrow.

Also made it to the gym this morning, felt good to throw some weight around. I was out of town all last week and couldn't work out or ride, so its f'n good to be home

I have pet sitters take care of the animals. They are much happier staying in their own environment.

No bands except for catching Buddy Guy play a few songs at his place on a night I remember little from too much to drink. Tried a bunch of beer, but the only brewpubs I found were mediocre beer at best. Some brits I work with who have spent a bunch of time in Ireland found a place that served imported Guinness with the proper gas mixture, better than the domestically made stuff but I'll take a good ale over a proper Guinness any day.

Ate at great restaurants almost every day. It got to the point where I craved little more than a simple turkey sandwich. My favorite was a little hole in the wall Mexican joint, and a little sushi place. Ate at the Fogo De Cao a couple of times but I liked it more for the salad bar than the gluttonous amounts of meat, fresh mozzarella, fresh slices of tomato and palm hearts make me very happy.

My favorite thing about Chicago next to the unbelievably hot women walking around is the architecture. Spent my only day off walking around checking out the buildings. 99% of the newer buildings are horrible but I found some really nice places in Lincoln Park.

Almost forgot I did catch a Cubs game, they came back from 6 runs down to win it in the 11th inning.

Dancin' over rocks n' roots!
Afternoon. Syd's sick so I am home with her today. Not that I mind at all as she's been somewhat happy and played until she fell into a nice deep sleep. She's so stuffy and rhaspy...I feel awful for her. I too am in the midst of a cold, but I can deal and can take meds...she can't :(
I've decided to make some homemade chicken soup for Syd & I to enjoy (thanks for the idea Greyhound) and maybe some calzones for Sq-Earl. We'll see though.

Good Afternoon now.

Had a good night last night. Restful but not too restful as I did some work on Splat's son's old bike that will now be Connor's new ride. Removed some stickers, removed the kickstand, put new grips on it, new pedals and slapped on a Ridemonkey.com sticker to cap it off. Still need to switch out the saddle and put some air in the tires.

I also did some work on my Niner too. Damn I was lucky I didn't lose both my big ring and middle ring altogether during the Churn and Burn. I lost one chainring bolt during the race, but the other three were also very very loose! No better time to remove that big ring, and to install better chainring bolts and a Race Face Bashguard - so I did that last night.

Now I need to ajust the front derailleur for the new two ring set up. I can lower it a bit right? And I assume ajusting some limit screws will prevent it from shifting over into the third ring right?? Anyone got any tips on how to do that properly (adjusting shifting isn't my strong suite whatsoever)?
