Out of my mind, back in a moment.
Wait a minute...who paid for the lights? ;)

The Arc is awesome though. We have the NiMH batteries. I've tried the NiteRider and it was bulky and awkward on my head. The light was also a little too white (or perhaps it was just the light's placement on my head), but it was difficult to see depth. I don't have as much of that problem with the Arc. I also liked the Lume I tried, but their model with a quick charger is on severe back order. A little more expensive than I ended up getting the Arc for too.
Yes dear, your christmas present is fantastic. :thumb:

Jones should just coach the team..... Now that would be awesome.
That is really what he wants to do. I think he should, the implosion would be most satisfying. The Cowboys could give me the perfect season I have been dreaming about, 0-16.

Watchin' you. Writing it all down.
Wasn't there speculation about that like 10 years ago? I want to say it was before Barry Switzer was hired.

LOL...Barry Switzer.
There was a ton of that. I think even Jimmy Johnson might have made a smart a$$ comment about him doing that. I wonder if Barry would be willing to come back? He's probably not doing anything.

I think I'd rather have the Raiders job.

Thanks for the advice! I've read about 8 bizillion threads and comparisons and reviews on lights.......it's maddening when you think you've got the right light pegged and then you read that review by the guy who had to return that set 3 times before he got the right battery, or something to that effect.....then you're back at square one again. :banghead:

Honestly, I'm leaning towards the Cateye Triple Shot LED handlebar mount lights. Every set of lights have their unique quirks, advantages and drawbacks.....so what works for one person, might not suit someone else. I like the claimed durability and longevity of the LED bulbs, the instant on and off, and the run times are phenomenal, but I'm concerned it won't be enough light. But, it's claimed their beam is approaching HID standards, so maybe I'm not far off the mark with my choice. I like the brightness of the HID's, but their tendency to just shut off when power is lacking kinda worries me. I don't like having to carry backups for this and that for just a simple night ride, so I want something that's pretty tough.

The reality-kick-in-the-plums moment of the day came around 9 pm last night when I was able to feel our baby kick for the first time. Holy cow!!! .......This is really happening, isn't it?
It's trippy, what I love to do now is when my kids are being little sh*ts out in public, if I see a pregnant girl (where I can guess it's her first) I'll say........What ever you do, don't have kids:bonk: :bonk: I love to see the expression on their faces:banana: :happydance:

I went through the same thing recently with lights. I almost didn't buy one at all because I was so fed up with everyone saying something different.

As for the shutting off, the Arc will warn you when it's getting low and then has 15 minutes of back-up light to get you out of the woods.

I also seriously thought about the Cateye Triple shot. It's one nice light. The only downside is that you can't mount it to your helmet. This is such a pain because if you need to do a repair or are on tight singletrack, the light isn't always where you want it. The Arc comes with both mounts and has a breakaway mount for if you snag a tree branch or something (you won't hurt the light).

All in all, it's a crapshoot. My feeling is that if you can afford it, it's always better to have too much light than not enough. It's a safety issue and you're not going to want to ride if you can't see what you want to or ride as fast as you'd like because you're outrunning the light. I tried an HID after seeing a friend's halogen and knew the HID would be a good investment and I love riding with it so far. The Arc also comes with a pretty decent warranty (most parts are guarenteed for at least a year).

I think so, but I don't mind. Who doesn't like a conversation with "The Stosh?"

Besides.....I'll always remember your birthday now.
Ha, cool deal!

It sucks having a b-day so close to Christmas, everybody is always shopped and partied out by then. :)

good morning/afternoon Monkeys!!

just trying to wake up a little and hopefully going for a little ride later. I am also going to be posting some bikes that will be hitting ebay in a week of two. I figure i would give a monkey a chance at them first

Enjoy the day!!

Thanks, man! She's due January 21st. I rotate evenly between "Holy Sh*t--can I handle this?" and "It's cool....I can handle this."
My wife is due Jan 10th. I haven't really had any "Holy Sh*t, can I handle this?" moments. It's just going to happen, and whatever is going to happen is going to happen and there ain't crap I can do about it now.

Maybe I'm just in denial, eh?

Afternoon all! Cold & crappy here. I can't seem to stop sneezing either...I know I am allergic to something in my room as I was fine before I went in and all I do is sneeze when I am in there. Now, I just have to figure out what I am allergic to.

I made a delicious pasta dish last night and pots au chocolate for dessert followed by some wine and a nice relaxing evening with the hubby & daughter. Other than that, nothing exciting here.

Yeah we sneeze in our office all the time too. We think it has something to do with the Bleach factory next door.
