So I've got a freehub body going south on my XTR wheels. (first time ever that has happened to me) Retail on the replacement is 170ish. The complete hub with quick release is 240ish. After you price out the axle and bearings, it appears that when you buy the hub you get the shell for free and maybe the quick release as well.
And when you are talking not retail that price difference is even less between the body and the whole hub.

I say buy the whole hub for the price difference...its sh!tty when they do that becuase it basically forces you into buying a new product
