Not in the slightest. Then again I just checked and only bookmarks are synced (sync'd?). Can you start unchecking boxes and see if something specifically is hanging it up?

think i have bad hardware. changing the broadcast channel from auto-detect to fixed at channel 1 has bandaided it.

well, when you have a corp computer, but are not connected to their LAN/VPN, it tries to connect/map drives for a few seconds, fails, re-tries. however, when it re-tries, it does NOT clean up failed connections, in essence doing a DDoS on your modem/router (concurrent speedtests on other devices had identical results).
so, the solution is to turn off network discovery & do not allow corp drives to reconnect at logon.
can anyone with network background explain to me why an ever-increasing number of distinct connection attempts happens? can my local domain be configured to move on to another port only after closing the failed connection?
