1'18.284", and i'm pretty happy with the lap. i'm going to sit on this time.

still 0/0/0 driving aids, i can't drive the car with it being slowed down. requires some restraint. :D other tips: DON'T EARLY APEX! be prudent with the throttle in the first section around those tunnels, you can really lose time by getting off line or having to back off. after the tunnels in the sweeping, long left hander that drops away, stay off the curbing, and again, don't early apex. staying wide and maximizing your line/speed into the corner will let you exit at 95+ mph, which saves you a TON of time before the second time checkpoint. this is where laps are made and lost.

other setup: suspension 12.2/13.1, 65/65, 8/8, 8/8, 4.0/3.1, 0/0, 6/6, gearbox at 9 with 6th gear made 10 ticks longer (0.986)

splits: 0'25.796", 0'55.354".

So if an oil change brings the power up over 310 , thats cool ? I'm using a Subaru rally car '01 , stock power is 305 , but after a few miles and an oil change , power is now at 325. Still okay to use it ?

Cheers :)

bah, i hate the grand canyon course. part of me died when i discovered that they took out the smokey mountain course from the rally portion of the game.

anyone logged some times in on grand canyon reverse yet? that's one tight course, and it really punishes you if you get behind on the turns.

right now i have a low 2'27.168?" logged, or something close to that +/- my memory. there's definitely a ton more time to be harvested from that course, as i was 1.5 seconds up on this time at various points in the course before screwing up. even more than the 'ring this will be a race of attrition and failing the least :D

My best so far is a miserable 2.35 something. Like you say , there's potential to slash lots of time with so many corners , I think my setup is okay , just gotta get in the zone and put something decent together.

Uhh, I haven't had a chance to play yet.
I know the track, its insane tight and a heavy pedal can get you in serious trouble ;)

Meh, I think I'll be bowing out of this competition. The rally version of this game sucks in my opinion. I just can't get behind it. Not to mention I would log the slowest time no doubt as I suck at rally.

booyah. 2'21.856" for those of you subscribed as text.

i was going to save the nike 2022 as my secret weapon, but then i found out i could go quicker in another car. the focus is the one, in my opinion.

and so that you can verify that these cars indeed started out below the legal limit:

only things i did were to buy them (if i didn't have 'em), change the oil, put on dirt tires, change the settings to 4/4 compression, 5/5 rebound, 4/4 swaybars, 0/0/0 driving aids, and then run some laps. :)

i'm not too picky on the cars, i just want one race at nurburgring. i love that track.
D, if you have another 'ring race, i suggest a spec car, and a slower class of them than the Group C racers we had. Zark's M3 GTR (street car) idea isn't half bad given the heritage, maybe on S3 street tires? hmm. or maybe a RUF challenge there for oversteering fun :busted:

yeah I like a lot or your suggestions. My local group is about to end our series this Sunday so I will mirror that system and there should be enough of everything to please everyone.

My last favorite of my local group was "ring" with a FWD under 350hp....tons of fun...D

I'm down for another round.

Suggestion for the ring: Mercedes 190-E 2.5 touring car.

It handles really well and is traditional to that track.

I've found an emulator but the image is hard to come by...no seeds, lots of leeches, and it may/may not work. I need to find some spare cash for this.

Hell, I only use my PS2 for Turismo everyting else is on my Xbox....D

I'm up for another series , some good suggestions already for future races. The Lotus Elise is another good car for a challenge , great handling , not overpowered........

Jims suggestion for the 190 E at the ring is my favorite so far , wasn't there a licence test the same....?

iB final test, i think? (looks it up) nope, iA penultimate test, following a skyline pace car in a Mercedes-Benz 190 E 2.5 - 16 Evolution III '91. that's a fun one, trying to egg the pace car into going faster without hitting it or passing it outright.

I just straight up skipped the last challenge, I'm not a fan of the rally races. Should we start up a new series or keep posting random challenges? This was pretty fun and i would like to keep it going.
