Once you have made a modification to a car can you remove said modification?

You can turn off a modification in the settings menu before a race, just like switching tires or changing gearing.

there are some mods that cant be turned off, for example, port and polish, engine balancing, weight reduction.
there my be more buts thats all i can remember just now.
but all the rest can be easily turned off by doing the above, you can also access the settings by pressing start in the home menu.
