Gravity East Series Race # 5, Snowshoe Bike Park, September 9, 2012
The 2012 Gravity East Series season kicks off the weekend of Sept. 8 & 9 at Snowshoe Bike Park, Snowshoe Resort in Snowshoe West Virginia.
Snowshoe Resort is situated on 11,000 acres and is located nearly a mile high in the Allegheny Mountains.
Snowshoe Resort is no stranger to mountain bike competition. The Annual Snowshoe Downhill Race Series has been running strong for 8 years and in the early 2000s it hosted the USA Cycling former N.O.R.B.A. National Mountain Bike Series for a couple of years.
Snowshoe Mountain is located in the heart of Pocahontas County, WV being one of the highest counties in the East and set in the middle of the Monongahela National Forest. In August 2005 Snowshoe Resort hosted the ESPN Sports Center Live at its facility during the USA Cycling NORBA Bike Race. It also featured the resort and the NORBA event in the ESPN Series 50 Days, 50 States which brought attention and great recognition to downhill mountain bike racing.
Snowshoe Mountain is owned by Intrawest Destination Resorts and offers a complete city within the resort. There are stores, restaurants and bars all within walking distance and every possible outdoor activity you can think of or participate in. It is truly a spectacular place to visit with great scenery and miles of mountain bike trails.

Snowshoe Bike Park season pass holders will receive a $20 discount on entry fees at on site registration and a complimentary lunch at Arbuckles Cabin on Race Day.

Located 6 miles and a 15 minute drive from the top of the mountain; the mountain base offers the preferred lodging for the GES event, The Inn at Snowshoe.
