Gravity East Series Race # 2, Wisp Resort, McHenry MD

The Gravity East Series rolled into Wisp Resort for GES Race # 2. Wisp Resort tucked away in the mountains of Western Maryland is Maryland’s only four season recreational destination resort.

Rain on Friday evening late and a downpour late on Saturday evening dampened and muddied the course but did not dampen the spirits of the riders.

In the Elite Women category Anne Galyean (East Coast Gravity) from Chapel Hill NC continued her winning ways by edging out 18 yr. old Lauren Daney (Specialized/Grom Racing) from Stafford VA for the second time in two weeks.

Elite Women

1st Anne Galyean (East Coast Gravity) Chapel Hill NC

4th Rae Gandolf (Sierra Nevada Brewing Co.) Zanesville OH
5th Hannah Trimble Banner Elk NC

In the Elite Men category a great competition is beginning to develop. Leland O’Connor from Los Osos CA edged out Trevyn Newpher (Grom/Snowshoe/Chainsmoke) Snowshoe WV in GES Race #1 at Snowshoe by just a mere nine tenths of a second. In GES Race # 2 at Wisp Resort Newpher returned the favor and took first over O’Connor by five seconds to create a tie among the Elite early in the season.

Thanks for posting Rick

I just want to say Thank you to all the racers, Racer Edge for creating an excellent Dual Cross track, and Wisp Resort for hosting the GES.

Yes it rained, but I saw that many were very happy and as you can see from the Race report it was still a close racing on the Pro side.

Also we will be doing more Friday registrations on-site at the rest of the races, and I want to encourage you to pre-register, as anyone who did the registration process was a breeze. All together the GES team made for a smooth registration process and a great two day event.

Thanks to all and see you at Windham for Race #3

Yes we got registration worked out and Snowshoe was a different scenario since it was the first time the GES was there and we were not prepared enough and we learned allot from that. Thanks to Jeff's suggestions and help from volunteers and Friday registration it made the difference. Thank you to all that helped, we can always use some volunteers.
