This mat sound like the most ridiculous question in the world but here goes.

I have had my balfa BB7 powder coated and am rebuilding it from the ground up.
And all has stainless steel bolts.
Now somebody had put loctite on the linkage bolts and when stripping I had to heat it up as it was stuck solid.
I don't want that route again l but have been told loctite only for major bolts like the pivot.

So my question is on the fork crown bolts , disc brake bolts and every other bolt do I use a standard bike grease?
Or is copper slip better?
I know you have to use copper slip on titanium bolts but what about steel?
Also the headset , does it go in dry on should I use grease?

I always grease everything in a head set. Same thing with the threads on pedals. You don't want those to seize up.

As for putting Loctite on bolts throughout the bike, I usually don't do it. I only really use blue Loctite when I notice a bolt that is stubborn and comes loose often. Doing frequent checks on your bike will help with this. Rotor bolts are something that I Loctite.

And only use blue Loctite.
