Hunt for flasher on mountain bike Feb 21 2006
By Duncan Gibbons
POLICE fear a serial flasher is prowling a Rugby neighbourhood after exposing himself twice in three days.
As reported in the Evening Telegraph on Thursday, the sex pest dropped his trousers in front of two young girls in Parkfield Road, Newbold, on February 10.
Now officers think he did the same thing to a woman walking her dog in a picnic area off Brownsover Lane, near Newbold, three days earlier.
Both incidents happened at about 4pm within a mile of each other and in each case the man was wearing a red jumper and dark jogging bottoms and riding a black mountain bike.
Police today urged "vulnerable young girls and women" to be vigilant, but do not believe they are in physical danger.
PC Dave Piper, of Rugby police, said: "He has unnerved them, but there is no indication they are in serious danger - he has made a move towards them, but he has not followed them.
"There have now been two incidents in a short space of time so we are desperately keen to find out who this chap is. Somebody must know who he is.
"He must be local. He wears quite distinctive clothing and rides a black mountain bike."
Officers would like to speak to another dog walker who was in the picnic area at the time of the first offence.
She is white, aged in her 40s, and was walking an Alsatian and a small, long-haired terrier.
Her car is a dark BMW saloon.
Anyone with information is asked to phone PC Piper on 01788 541111 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
