Hey All--

So my phone rings early this morning, and my boss wanted to talk to me about scheduling. To give some background, since I work at one of the Lake Tahoe casinos (I won't mention any names, however, it begins with a "B"), management does this thing where dealers and supervisors get rated on their job performance, then the higher-rated personnel get to "bid" on their shifts. Meaning-- the better one's rated, the better chance they have of getting the exact schedule they'd like. Any way, my boss tells me that I was the #1-rated supervisor at "B's", and if I wanted the early starts, they were mine. Yes, I took them!! Granted, I've always been one that feels seniority comes first, and there is one other supervisor that has been there longer than me. After a coaching session, though, well, yes, I'm being egotistical and taking the early starts. Granted, it will cut in deeply to my day rides (like I've been riding much since Pueblo-- haha), yet to be on a "normal" schedule again, without all the drunks at night (hey, I can be a drunk at night-- haha again), and maybe my relationship with my wife will improve.

By the way, anyone have any info on the "Coolest 24 Hour MTB Event"???

No to the tips (I am salaried-- whoopie!!), and my "ego" comment just means I am thinking about #1 and not others. Should start about Oct. 13, so just a few more weeks of dealing with the Tahoe night life.......

does that mean way less skiing?

or are you one of those handful of people who spend winters in tahoe and don't ski/snowboard?

Thanks for all the congrats, yes it's cool to pick my schedule, nothing wrong with "being me" as individuality is cool, and yep, I'm a pit dog/boss/bull/don't-tick-me-off-or-I'll-have-security-kick-you-out-'cuz-I-was-written-up-last-time-I-physically-threw-someone-out. Oh, and I do cross-country ski or snowshoe in the winters. I tried regular skiing and 'boarding, and it just didn't appeal to me. Oh well, that's what layering up, letting the air pressure down, and riding in the snow is for. Makes 24/Pueblo ssooo relaxing.
