That’s what I’m talking about.siko is after something a little different... wants to run sram chainring with shimano 12 speed chain.
XTR or XT chain and cassette, Sram masterlink, Sram chainring.

is it? that's not what you just saidThat’s what I’m talking about.

Oops, my bad. I meant chain. Pesky letters.
have you considered an e-bike?Want to run a 28t or maybe a 26t on the Vermont climbing days. Getting too lazy to push a 30t.
i'm only inquiring because siko is looking to run eewings, which use a sram interface for the chainrings. and it seems that as of right now noone is making a chainring for 12spd shimano with that interface in the size siko is looking for.Oops, my bad. I meant chain. Pesky letters.
Now I am running an Absolute Black Oval 30.
I would stick with the 28t, as that’s more in line with what the kinematics are designed for. 26t could start to influence the climbing too much.Want to run a 28t or maybe a 26t on the Vermont climbing days. Getting too lazy to push a 30t.
Yeah what he saidi'm only inquiring because siko is looking to run eewings, which use a sram interface for the chainrings. and it seems that as of right now noone is making a chainring for 12spd shimano with that interface in the size siko is looking for.
Not yet. Im not that oldhave you considered an e-bike?
Yup, I have recently searched. 28 is Sram Country. (In a shimano 12 compatible version).i'm only inquiring because siko is looking to run eewings, which use a sram interface for the chainrings. and it seems that as of right now noone is making a chainring for 12spd shimano with that interface in the size siko is looking for.
i'm only involving myself in this as an eewings user that will probably be using 12 speed shimano when the time comes to n+1 my bikes. then again, where i currently live there's no need for such low gearing, the longest climbs locally are 10 minutes tops.that being said, 51/30 is REALLY fucking low.
I am on a 42/30 right now and can climb pretty much everything. Just want an option for something easier if I need it.Yup, I have recently searched. 28 is Sram Country. (In a shimano 12 compatible version).
that being said, 51/30 is REALLY fucking low.
Isn't the smallest 12spd large cog you can get a 45t? If you want the extra bit of low range there it is, or go for the 51t and your 30t chainring gets stupid-mega-ultra low.I am on a 42/30 right now and can climb pretty much everything. Just want an option for something easier if I need it.
I will start with a AB oval 30T. Wish they still had the ee wings Ti color
like this? they're not listed as out of stock. but i hadn't seen them on the product page listing recently, maybe they did another run?Wish they still had the ee wings Ti color
I thought that was wolf tooth? Or did AB do one too?Absolute Black did an oval ring that matched the Ti color. I thought about those but not worth the cost just to scuff up
I think both make a ring with "EE-wing" finish of some sort, I just don't see anything in 30tI thought that was wolf tooth? Or did AB do one too?
Actually, I use the 51/30 WAY more than I thought I would, and I am often faster doing so.Isn't the smallest 12spd large cog you can get a 45t? If you want the extra bit of low range there it is, or go for the 51t and your 30t chainring gets stupid-mega-ultra low.
In that case it doesn’t matter at all IME. The Shimano 12sp seems to be a bit picky, and that’s what you were asking about so I thought you were on 12. 10 speed you could pick any chain cassette and chain ring, mix and match however you wanted, it was the 11spd stuff that got all wonky and drivetrains got picky then the 12spd got even weirder.I am on 10 speed
And WAAAAY better! (Lookin' at you, JM)then the 12spd got even weirder.
Hippies26T ?
Chinese TieDye wings?
what is going on in this thread??
Shoulda been wheelieing one of those shitty share a bike things in the background...well well well...when the VA tourism agency needs a bike to rep its outdoorsy lifestyle, whadda they choose for single-wheelin hooliganism???
