By the way, here's my common sense solution to gun reform. Take 10 words out of the current federal gun laws:

Put the onus on the seller to ensure that the person that he/she is selling the gun to can legally own it. Period. Just like states make bars criminally liable for underage drinkers, hold the seller accountable if he or she sells a firearm to someone who can't own one. Keep background checks voluntary for private sales, but if you sell a weapon to someone who can't own one, you're fvcked.
