So 14 dead, 17 wounded. two shooters dead 3rd in custody. One Leo wounded but will survive. A tip came in linking the SUV to Redlands about 12 miles from the mass shooting. Police were arriving there and the suv speed away. The chase and final shoot out led back to the area of the initial shootings. Good work by the police and citizen tipsters.

from this article we may have a case of workplace revenge, Health Dept Employees rented the hall for their xmas party

A man and a woman connected to a mass shooting that left 14 people dead and 17 wounded in San Bernardino were killed in a firefight with police officers after a car chase Wednesday, authorities said.

Two law enforcement sources identified one of the suspects as Syed Farook. Two separate law enforcement sources said one of the suspected gunmen was an American citizen, but declined to identify them.

Public records show a person named Syed R. Farook was employed by the San Bernardino County Health department as an environmental health specialist, but it was not clear if that was the same person involved in the shooting.

The identity of the man and woman killed by police was not immediately known.

Police tracked the alleged assailants to a home in the Redlands around 3 p.m., touching off a dramatic televised car chase that ended in a shootout on the streets of San Bernardino, according to city police chief Jarrod Burguan.

A police officer was also wounded in the gun battle, but is expected to survive.

A federal law enforcement source told The Times that the suspects hurled what were believed to be pipe bombs at police during the vehicle pursuit. Burguan said police recovered one device, but it turned out not to be an explosive.

@kidwoo Ok, out of morbid curiosity I read some of the comments on FauxNews about mass shooting du jour. Just amazing in a very sad way. The blind hatred for Obama, the subsequent frothing in the wake of a tragedy and the rate at which similar comments are being posted is just mind boggling.

CNN reports that ATF has confirmed that at least one of the four firearms retrieved by investigators was legally purchased.

The name of the purchaser, or the location, has not been made public.

Just remember, the answer to this is to make guns easier to purchase so more people have them. Just ask IH8Rice. The truly important discussion is about clips vs. magazines.

God is causing this.

Ammirite!
No way, the levitating cloud Santa only causes good things to happen. It's people who defy his holy will and do bad things. To wit:

- surgeon successfully removes brain tumor and saves patient's life = cloud Santa

- surgeon opens up skull, cannot remove tumor without killing patient, patient dies 1 month later = stupid fucking surgeon's fault.

I hope this clears it up for you.

Go to a Texas gun show?
Pretty much any transaction short of an automatic weapon that requires a class 3 FFL would be legal. Unless of course you are a convicted felon. However the seller has no way of knowing if you are a felon, has is required no due diligence to determine if the purchaser is a felon.

As far as I know, if any mass shootings have occurred with a class 3 weapon, it is statistically insignificant to ones executed with regular old "home defense" and "hunting" weapons.

Class 3 weapons were rather popular with criminals pre-war, before they were controlled. Not so much anymore. But remember folks, gun control doesn't work.

Pardon my morbid math, and maybe even a bit of a bad faith argument, but how many people have died since 9-11 in these mass shootings. If it's more than 1 a day, then I'd imagine it's at least as much as 9-11. How are people not terrorized by this? How is the NRA not labelled a terrorist organization if they advocate for the continuation of the system that allows this to happen?

Because it's only terrorism when brown people do it. Americans don't care else wise, just the price of teh freedumbz®.

Oh I'm sorry, "too soon?™"

I'm just sick of luminaries like you keeping this all possible because you're too stupid to see a larger picture and honestly think you're your own personal army. People I've known have been gunned down in public places in real life. This isn't distant news for me every time one of these happens.

That's all :)

Restrictions on assault weapons in CA mean it's easy as pie to go across the border to Nevada or somewhere else and pick up a weapon and "clips" that are illegal in CA.

The more I see this stuff the more I'm convinced bullets need to be $100/each and stamped with serial numbers. When's the last time a millionaire went crazy and murderer a bunch of people with an assault weapon? Besides, then you have to think about food or bullets.

you will be voting for one on either side of the aisle next year and giving him an army to play with.

as far as bullets....wait as long as it takes for each round to be personally engraved with your ssn on it.

Every single one of them? Hell no. I spent too many years growing up on a skateboard having roid raging douchebags getting in my face with a badge for sliding on a curb.

But........
In a larger, general sense yes. Much more than the self protection cowboys that were certainly not responsible for stopping the PP shooting last week in the midst of a very armed community. And they certainly weren't the ones that gunned down these assholes either. That was cops in both cases.

And a good reason why local controls aren't nearly as effective as national.

Hiding from the stupid
It's starting to look like these idiots were of the dirka dirka jihad variety, and maybe that's what it's going to take.

Just like Reagan when he got scared of dark skinned people getting guns.
Right. They just need to figure out how to stop dirka dirka jihad while making sure yee ha motherfuckin ha jihad continues unabated.
