At the "Bike and Brew" ride out here a few months ago there was as dude on a full road bike (with bigger tires) riding with us... I was a little pissed because when everyone re-grouped to head down, he jumped in front. However he was actually flying! He took some of the steep and nasty stuff better than 1/2 the guys on full squish. I was HIGHLY impressed… although he did slow me down (just a little).

Just re-affirms my stance - it's not the bike, it's the rider!
