For anyone that cares, i found a way to play Halo2 online without needed a xbox live account.

This site allows you to install a game connector on your PC the will let you xbox connect to others via system link.

Since I modded my xbox i can't get on xbox live, so this is a great alternative

Yep...you can run the first Halo that way too. The only thing that sucked was you would have people with dial up and different connection speeds. So You or some one would shoot, and it would look like you shot him but you didn't because his speed was different, and he actually had already moved. You could find people with better speeds to not have so much of that though.
